Tri-C in Cleveland

Published

A while ago I posted asking about the nursing program application process at Tri-C. I just wanted to update that I received acceptance into the Spring 2010 semester :D. The process was actually pretty fast. I am very excited. Hope to hear from others that will also start at Tri-C in the Spring.

register for the ADN group on my tri -c space....this will give you access to a wealth of info..including the handbook which has the immunizations etc. When I registered for the group, just asked the admin for permission to join since I would be starting the program in the future and wanted to keep on top of things etc....

offered a nursing asst position on med/surg floor at a local hospital...think I will focus on work instead of taking classes this summer....then take my micro (my last support course) in the Fall -- last summer was positively terrible taking both A and P I and biochem all while managing the house and three kids home on summer break.

quick question for you. i am do to start tri-c's fall nursing program. my question is nsg. 1300 and nsg. 1450 - are these taken at the same time? and, are clinicals done in the first semester? if so, at what point do clinicals start - right off the bat?

nurs 1300 is not a clinical. it is nursing assessment. it teaches you how to observe each body system and know what it means. nurs 1450 is your first clinical and it will be on a med/surg floor at a hospital. i'm not sure about tri-c, but most nursing schools have clinicals start the first week or two.

yeah normally nurs 1300 and 1450 are taken in the same semester. as foreverlaur states 1300 is a basic assessment class (taking vitals, patient history ect.) there is a lecture and lab component to the course. 1450 is the first med/surg clinical. i believe this course has a lecture, lab, and a clinical (in a hospital) component. i'll know a lot more about both courses next year at this time.

Hi, Nurse2b2. I am due to start in August as well and started a thread called "Tri-C Fall 2010". Have you received the packet with all the info in it yet?

*NewStart2010*

No, I have not received anything at all. However, I saw the background check information on the website so I just went ahead and paid for it and will be going in tomorrow for the fingerprinting, etc. Hopefully, I will get an information packet this week. I like to plan ahead.

Me too. I had my fingerprinting done this past Monday. Are you in the evening or day program?

I am in the modified evening and weekend class. How about you?

I am also in the evening/weekend program.

Yesterday I went to Corporate Screening and did the finger printing. I also sent the receipt from the background check to Tri-C. Now I do not know what is coming next. Does anyone know if Corporate Screening will send the results to Tri-C? Or I am the one who should do that...? I am confused...
