A while ago I posted asking about the nursing program application process at Tri-C. I just wanted to update that I received acceptance into the Spring 2010 semester . The process was actually pretty fast. I am very excited. Hope to hear from others that will also start at Tri-C in the Spring.
NewStart2010:yeah:
Has anyone else out there finished their prereqs this spring semester and notified the nursing department that they are eligible for the ADN program? I had already been accepted in the fall 2010 LPN program but have decided to forego that and wait for the next RN pogram and only needed this last semester. I called and left my information on the department voicemail but it actually was 2 days before the grades were available on My tri-c space. I called and left another message after they were posted, but I'm just curious if anyone else is waiting too.
like we have prometric website to register for admission assessment test,
do we have a website to register for background check?
yesterday i went to tri-c, saying i finished pre-req, and the staff told me
" wait and they will send a letter that admission test prepration, background check information".
but reading all the messages you wrote here(thank you very much), i found out
i need to hurry up and schedule for a test in advance. good lesson.
i'd go through background check in advance before i get an information letter from school.
please let me know background check website that i can do it in advance.
Background Check Information (BCI)
They will stamp/sign the receipt when you go for the background check you just fax/snail mail it over to the nursing department with your "S" number on it.

just go to this website and click on background check it will give you all the details. that part i figured out and took before my a2. however, the a2 is what messed me up. my student id wouldn't register when i tried to sign up for the test. it took them a week to figure it out, which delayed me from getting a spot in strongsville. i went to hudson to take it. they have more availability. also, they ask for your first, middle and last name. make sure you put what is on your license exactly or you can't get in. good luck to you. maybe i'll see you in the fall of next year!!
Hello all,
I'm just starting out to pursue my career in Nursing. I had my transcripts sent and waiting for counseling.
Looking at the course offering for pre-req, do you know if they allow you to take bio-1100 and AP-I? I see that AP-I require 1100. I would like to finish the requirements by end of summer, but with that order of requirements it'll take longer.
Thanks.

Note where it says "or concurrent enrollment" so yes you can take Bio-1100 and 2330 at the same time.
Thanks Scott, guess that didn't register in my brain at the time.
Also, do you know the process of registering for class that's already filled up? Can you get the approval from the instructor as the class begin?
Another thing, where can you find the text book required for classes?
Thanks,
jimmy
Welcome to The Tri-C Bookstore

If it's a class with a lab IE Bio 1100 or 2330 you're likely not going to be able to get in since there are only 24 seats in the labs (8 tables with 4 seats each). Otherwise there is a form you pick up from admissions and records that you bring with you to the first meeting of a class and have the professor sign. What the form actually looks like I have no idea. I just know it exists.

I talked to someone named Mary Jo B. I can't remember her last name. She's the one that told me around 60% graduation rate. She could have been misinformed. Perhaps I'll call back and try to speak to someone higher up in the nursing department that may have a different statistic. I think that is fairly common though. I know Cinci State and CSCC also have around 60%-65% graduation rates.
My grades still aren't on My Tri-C Space. Tri-C still says they withhold student grades until 5/17.
Am I doing something wrong? :-/
