A while ago I posted asking about the nursing program application process at Tri-C. I just wanted to update that I received acceptance into the Spring 2010 semester . The process was actually pretty fast. I am very excited. Hope to hear from others that will also start at Tri-C in the Spring.
NewStart2010:yeah:
I received my application today. It was mailed yesterday according to the stamp on the envelope. It says to return via certified mail. Did everyone actually pay to have to mailed via certified mail or did you just send it regular mail?
I sent mine back via certified mail. Total cost was $3.24. According to the USPS website it was delivered yesterday.

I mailed mine yesterday. Same day I received it. Cost me the exact same. No updates yet. I'm hoping it comes today or tomorrow at the latest. It usually takes 2 days max to send things!! I'm checking the tracking # multiple times per day and I have e-mail alerts set up haha.
Anyone know what the turn around time is? How long until we receive notice in the mail of which class we are officially placed into?

Turn around time must be pretty fast. I sent my letter this past Monday, February 8. It was delivered to Tri-C Metro the next day. I recieved my letter today Friday the 12th of February congratulating me on being accepted into the nursing program and that a space has been reserved for me to begin Spring 2011. It says to expect more information and further instructions about orientation and whatnot in November. I also got a letter from the Dean congratulating me for earning a 4.0 for the Fall as a part time student, and I also got an invitation to join Phi Theta Kappa Chi Omega Chapter. So hooray for me.

How do you get that? I've had a 4.0 for two semesters there as a distance learning full-time student and nobody sent me a letter. Boo.
I mailed in my letter on February 10 and it was received on February 12 at 11:00 AM. So it looks like I should definitely have my letter next week and hopefully there are still spots for January 2011 because I put that as my #1 choice. It would be nice to "know" some classmates :)

From what the letter says you need a minimum of 12 semester hours at Tri-C and a 3.5 gpa or better to get invited to join. I'm not sure why you wouldn't get a letter, but it might have something to do with your being a distance learning student. I'm not sure what your "campus of record" is but mine is the western campus which is where the office for PTC is located, or at least where my letter came from.
On another note I'd be really surprised if Spring 2011 was already filled up. Other than people that may have been late trying to get in for Fall 2010 we are probably towards the top of the list for Spring 2011.
No one is trying to "torment you"! :) Tri-C had its reaccreditation visit with the National League for Nursing from February 9-11, so I think people in the office are still trying to catch up from all that entails. Give it another week and then contact them.
I'm just impatient because I have until February 28 to let my apartment know if I am renewing my lease or not. If I get into Tri-C for January 2011, I'm not renewing and moving to Cleveland. If I don't get in for Spring 2011, I'm staying here in Columbus and starting at CSCC in March of 2011... hence the urgency. When will Tri-C know if they get re-accredited? I'm not entirely sure how that process works...
Call them. I needed to know when I would get accepted so I could decide to take an early retirement. They at least eventually told me that all letters go out on a certain date each month and they told me when they would be mailed. I received my confirmation and acceptance letter shortly after the date they told me. You have to be persistant and tell them exactly why you need to know. You should be getting something soon. Or ask your apt management if they can give you a few days. I hope things go well for you.
While reaccreditation is not officially conferred until the NLN meets and makes its formal pronouncement in June, the site visitors stated that they would recommend continued accreditation and the NLN generally follows their recommendation. Tri-C has been continuously accredited since 1969.

Oops! Well, I guess I'll call them in a couple days to see if I have to resubmit it.
