TCRN - Trauma Certified Registered Nurse
How is everyone planning to study for this? Any recommendations on study material?

I'm not. At this point it's not going to do anything to help me so I'm not going to spend the money. If I was I'd do like I would for any other test/. Print out the blueprint, assess my knowledge and go from there. Focus the study on my weak areas.

I have looked around for some practice tests..etc... and they don't seem to exist yet. I guess i'm going to just do some hardcore review based on the outline provided and the trauma materials I already have at home. Should be interesting being the first group to take it! Let me know if you find anything!

This is the pilot version of the test so there is no formatted blueprint or prescribed guideline for the test. The best thing to review would be an ATLS, ENPC, or TNCC manual. Review the emergency nurse standards for trauma care and care after resuscitation.

Actually there is a blueprint, just no formal test prep material yet.

TNCC, CATN, and "Trauma Nursing: From Resuscitation Through Rehabilitation," 4th ed., by McQuillan et al.
Thanks everyone. I've been reviewing TNCC, ENPC, and ATLS/ATCN material from those classes. I also have the TCRN review manual by Jeff Solheim and the "Trauma Nursing: From Resuscitation Through Rehabilitation 4th edition" book that I've been looking through. Good luck to everyone.

Those that have taken the TCRN exam, what do you feel is the best way to study? Review TNCC, ATLS, attend a Jeff Solehiem class, etc..

There is a an online TCRN course by Jeff Solheim located on med-ed website that looks pretty good. You can watch a preview of it on their site. Not much out there yet.
