  1. I applied for Air Force Flight Nursing. Submitted my paperwork in September and in early October the recruiter said that he had everything and would be working on my paperwork. That's the last time I heard from him. I have e-mailed him about updates or if he needed anything else and still never heard back. Any thoughts on talking to another recruiter? Anyone know when selections are for flight nursing? Thanks
  2. I also passed. Congrats everyone.
  3. Thanks everyone. I've been reviewing TNCC, ENPC, and ATLS/ATCN material from those classes. I also have the TCRN review manual by Jeff Solheim and the "Trauma Nursing: From Resuscitation Through Rehabilitation 4th edition" book that I've been looking through. Good luck to everyone.
  4. It all depends on the hospital that you work at. I have worked in both a level 1 and level 2 trauma center. In the level 1 we had a ER Trauma Control team. The ER trauma control team only took trauma patients in the trauma area of the ER. They did not have to float to the "ER" side. However if you worked on the ER side and you were experienced and trained in trauma you could float to the trauma side when trauma was getting slammed or assistance was needed. It is very hard to get on a designated trauma team unless you have many of years of experience and have proven yourself in the ER first. In the level 2 hospital the trauma nurse would have trauma rooms and 2 major rooms. So you would have both trauma and medical patients.
  5. TCRN - Trauma Certified Registered Nurse How is everyone planning to study for this? Any recommendations on study material?
  6. I'm looking for medical missionary trips for nursing students. I'm currently in a BSN program and I'm looking for trips either during spring break or over the summer. Does anyone know of groups that let nursing students go or where I should look? Also if you have went on a trip and was a student can you tell me how it went? Thanks everyone.
