Torrance Memorial New Grad Program Aug 2016

Published

I just wanted to start a thread for Torrance Memorial's Residency. I recently applied. Has anyone heard anything yet?

Hi! I have only gotten an email to choose my top three unit choices from a list they sent out. They wanted my response this past Friday. But that's it as of now.

I got that same e-mail.

Have you heard anything yet after that email for choosing units? Getting anxious at this point.

Nope. Still waiting anxiously.

I got a call today for an interview on Wednesday. Did you get any news??

I also have an interview on Wed. I am not sure if they are done calling yet or not because I heard other units had been called earlier this week. Good luck everyone!!! Hope you get some good news.

mgh26, what unit are you interviewing for if I may ask? Really?? What units have you heard that already got called?

i have an interview with med/surg units on Tuesday!

Anyone had their interview yet and could maybe post a generalized summary of how it was? Such as if it was a group of different kinds of managers or just specific to your #1 unit? Clinical questions? All behavioral?

The interview process was fairly simple. You come in and take the med test (super easy so no stress!) and then have a quick interview with the nurse recruiter. These questions were just "why you want to work here, your strengths, how would you handle a difficult patient" etc and then you have the panel interview. I was interviewed by three managers and they just asked my preferences (day/night) and unit preference. They asked some clinical questions and some personality questions. No sweat!

Thank you for sharing! do you know what units the managers were working for?? I know you said med/surg so were they all med/surg managers? When the recruiter called me she said I would just meet with the mother/baby manager so I'm wondering if it's a mix of managers from different areas or just the area you wanted as your first choice. I heard from a friend that was part of the program in March that the clinical questions were somewhat basic but some he didn't know the answer for and just made educated guesses. How were the clinical questions for you.. Were they a good basic knowledge level?
