As in pain?, ulcer prevention?, antibiotics? Need a little more info.

Dilaudid, Cefipine, Vancomycin, Percocet,Tylenol.

For pain, our main ones are Morphine, Demerol, Dilaudid, and Percocet. We use PCAs a lot.

Antibiotics are mainly Ancef or Vancomycin.

Too many to name for all other medical conditions.

Colace is given to lots of patients...because of all the pain meds.

Hmmm...we use a lot too. Some of the most common ones would be Lasix, Metoprolol, Vicodin, Morphine, Ancef, and Tylenol

Antibiotic---zosyn, vanco, ancef

Pain--morphine, vicodin

Before blood---tylenol, benadryl (PO or IV)

between prbc's--lasix

The number one med used on our floor -----------Protonix

almost every single pt. gets it

I'll give you the ones I remember. Some hospitals do not use some of these; others do:

for pain: Demerol, Dilaudid, Morphine, Percocet, Vicodin, Tylenol

for nausea (caused by the pain medications): Anzemet, Reglan, Zofran, Phenergan

for itching: Benadryl

for swelling/inflammation: Solumedrol or Solucortef

for antibiotic prophylaxis (usually 1-3 doses): Ancef, gentamycin, rocephin

for antibiotic if the patient already has an infection: Zozyn (piperacillin), Azactam (not sure I spelled that right), Vancomycin, Cefepime, Rocephin, cleocin, unasyn, zithromax--there are really too many to mention and remember, so I call the pharmacy for confirmation of my directions.
