I would really like some advice. I took the NCLEX in California on Monday (12/15/14) and it's now Monday (12/22/14) and still no word on whether I passed or failed. I had 75 questions and felt fairly confident when I left the testing site. It's hard to feel like you definitely passed because the exam gives you some really strange questions with multiple answers that seem correct. It's also hard for me to believe that I did so terrible that the exam would shut off after only 75 questions. I tried the "Pearson Trick" multiple times (after day 1, day 2, day 3, and day 4) and I continue to get the good pop-up "Our records indicate that you have recently scheduled this exam. Another registration cannot be made at this time." I tried calling the BRN and they said that the amount of time it takes to get results isn't a reflection of whether or not you passed the exam. They also said that I need to wait another 3 weeks (1 month since I took the exam) and to call them if I haven't received my results by then. I'm going absolutely crazy. It's imperative that I get my license results soon because I have a job offer in CA that requires licensure. Is anyone experiencing something similar? Please give me your input! Does the "Pearson Trick" actually work? Is there anything I can do? I also want to take this opportunity to express how unhappy I am with the California BRN. It took more than 3 months to get my ATT and now I have waited a week with no NCLEX results. Also, CA doesn't offer "quick results." Man this sucks! Advice please!!!!
It's hard to except that the Pearson trick works (even when done properly) when you take the NCLEX on the same day as a classmate and she gets her results within 48 hours, and here I am 8 days later with no results.
Sorry to hear of your frustration; the CA BoN is notoriously slow! FWIW, the PVT has absolutely nothing to do with your BoN results. The trick 'working' or 'not working' only means that the official results matched what people who played the game guessed on how they did.
If I understand you correctly, you said that you did the PVT and was not able to schedule another exam after submitting your credit card info....is that right? If you did the PVT correctly (waited at least 24 hours, submitted credit card number) and you were NOT able to schedule another exam, it's extremely likely you did pass. Now, whether the Board of Nursing updates its website in a timely fashion is another story, unfortunately.
People have waited weeks, MONTHS before getting the license info on the BoN website, regardless of what the PVT had to say or not say. Sorry!
Correct. I was not able to schedule another exam after submitting my "valid" credit card information. I also waited more than 24 hours. I have tried scheduling another exam about 4 different times (after 2 days, 3 days, 4 days) and continue to get the good pop-up. Thanks for the information. Any idea why some people get their results a lot faster than others? When I asked the BRN they said it was purely random. Not sure why such an important process is "random." I imagine the results get routed to different employees who have to input information...some just work harder than others. Not sure if this assumption is accurate. Feel free to speculate.

It does seem to be pretty random, depending on who is processing it, whether it's early in the week or late, whether it's holiday time and there are people taking vacations....you get the idea. It's totally up to the BoN, once they have your results, when they will post the information. There are people here who have gotten the snail mail faster than it posted on the website!
There's nothing official in the PVT, but it does look like you've passed. Unfortunately, until the State issues the danged license, you can't use "but I think I passed because of the PVT" as proof
