I would really like some advice. I took the NCLEX in California on Monday (12/15/14) and it's now Monday (12/22/14) and still no word on whether I passed or failed. I had 75 questions and felt fairly confident when I left the testing site. It's hard to feel like you definitely passed because the exam gives you some really strange questions with multiple answers that seem correct. It's also hard for me to believe that I did so terrible that the exam would shut off after only 75 questions. I tried the "Pearson Trick" multiple times (after day 1, day 2, day 3, and day 4) and I continue to get the good pop-up "Our records indicate that you have recently scheduled this exam. Another registration cannot be made at this time." I tried calling the BRN and they said that the amount of time it takes to get results isn't a reflection of whether or not you passed the exam. They also said that I need to wait another 3 weeks (1 month since I took the exam) and to call them if I haven't received my results by then. I'm going absolutely crazy. It's imperative that I get my license results soon because I have a job offer in CA that requires licensure. Is anyone experiencing something similar? Please give me your input! Does the "Pearson Trick" actually work? Is there anything I can do? I also want to take this opportunity to express how unhappy I am with the California BRN. It took more than 3 months to get my ATT and now I have waited a week with no NCLEX results. Also, CA doesn't offer "quick results." Man this sucks! Advice please!!!!
From what I've seen, if you have your IP, the process goes very quickly. If you do not, then it can take a while... up to a month. This may be because they basically have to go through the entire licensing process if you do the IP and if you pass the NCLEX all they do is issue you an RN license number. If you didn't do the IP, they have to go through the entire licensing process after you have passed the NCLEX.
Of the classmates that got the IP, they only had at most a week's wait after passing the NCLEX. Of that didn't, most had wait time between a week and 3 weeks to get their RN license number.
I lost my job opportunity 2 days ago because my results haven't posted on the CA BRNI was originally told by a unit director that she would hold my spot for 2 weeks, but then she dropped a bomb on me saying that the recruiter actually needs my license by the end of the day...so sad (I actually cried). I now have to wait until April/May if I want to join their next new grad program. Not sure how i'm going to survive and pay rent until then. Fortunately I still have 1 more job possibility, but it's at a really nice hospital and there are a lot of really qualified applicants. I also wouldn't need my license for another month or so. Wish me luck. Merry Christmas :)
Omg !! I am so sorry for you. I got accepted residency program in Georgia state and still waiting my transcript to apply for BON. They told me they will allow me to join orientation w/o license but will get less hourly payment. Thank god that Georgia state has quick result. I can't understand why California doesn't has ...
Congratulations Ozzy84 on getting into a residency program. You're lucky they're willing to take you w/o a license. In California it's a requirement (at most hospitals) that you have your license before you can even apply. I really wish CA at least had quick results; it's an easy way for them to make a little extra money. Good luck in the program. For anyone keeping track...this is Day 11 of the waiting game.
That is but one reason for you to get the Interim Permit. Once you have it, you can apply to hospitals that look for that. There are several in my area that specify that you must have a license or an IP for their new grad job postings. As I posted earlier, it also speeds up the licensing process after you pass the NCLEX.
Yeah still waiting its now been 16 days since i took the nclex and still nothing. I called the brn and the lady said that it might be because my file isn't complete but she said they had my results and needed to wait for my file to be clear before they could post my results. I told her that my school had done their part and sent my transcripts a long time ago and the lady said it looked like everything was there and that she would email someone to see about getting my results posted. She sounded positive when she said they had my results so im just banking on that being a good sign. I just need to see my name on the brn before i feel any better
hope you get your results soon!
Email the department of consumer affairs. I wish I had the email but I remembered just now that someone in my class had an awful time getting there stuff finished she emailed them and it was done the next day. Call them email them whatever it takes. Can't believe I hadn't thought of it till now
I took the NCLEX-RN on December 4th at 0800. I still have not heard anything by mail or on Breeze. I was finally able to get through to the BRN and they told me my "transcripts were being processed" and to expect to wait another 4-6 weeks. After hearing most of my classmates found out in less than a week and my results are somehow tied up due to transcripts is torture. I thought they were supposed to process transcripts before I could even take the NCLEX. I am trying to stay hopeful because I don't understand why they are processing my transcripts if I failed you would think they would have sent me a letter stating I failed by now and also I am getting the good pop up on Pearson vue....I have heard this has only happened to a handful of people and I guess I am one of the lucky ones.
Gizelle22 Iam4jesus , I actually called the dept of consumer affairs and the guy i spoke with was super nice and emailed his boss to look into why my results wasn't posted yet to the brn. The guy i spoke with even forwarded the email he sent to me just so i was reassured he actually sent one. His boss then emailed me back and said they have at least 3 weeks to get the results processed but he would still look into why my results hadn't posted. 10 minutes later i got another email from the boss saying that right after he sent that email he was handed my paper work and that my results were posted. I don't know if it was the phone call that made the difference or if my results were going to post yesterday regardless but I'd say calling the dept of consumer affairs is worth a shot because they actually have pity for you hahah so good luck to all that are still waiting!
P.S. I PASSED!!!!!!!!!!
