Took NCLEX-PN today...

Nursing Students NCLEX

Well I took the NCLEX-PN today. I sure don't feel like I did very good. I got 85 questions...took me about 65-75 minutes. I guess I did really good or really bad since I only got 85 questions. I know i got the last question right but I know that doesn't mean anything. I honestly don't feel that the questions were really easy or really hard. A few of them I thought were easy so I figured I missed the question before. However, a lot of them I don't think I really had a clue! I got a lot of priority questions and I think maybe that's why a lot of them I wasn't sure of because they all were probably right but just determining which one comes first. I tried using Maslow's, ABC's, and nursing process but I don't think it helped! I got 2 click all that apply questions, probably about 10 med questions which is unfortunate becomes pharmacology is not my thing and they were all on side effects or the action. I don't think I got one peds questions, a few OB, and no dosage calc. I really think I failed though...honestly I don't know what to think! Now comes the worst part...waiting. I sure hope I don't have to go through this again!!!

Relax and kick back and wait, thats all you can do now! I have not taken it yet, so no advice from experience to give. :)

Iam still waiting for my ATT from State Board FL. Think positive! Good luck!

On 12/28 it took me about 1 hour and 15 minutes to finish 85 questions, and I passed. Think positively and good luck! :)

Good luck, I hope you passed. Let us know!

I take my NCLEX-PN on Feb. 28th!

RElax I am sure you did well, On jan 4th i took my nclex i got only 85 questions and it took me about 1 hr 30mins. I passed, so try to think positive, i know its hard.

I just took mine and it cut off right at "100". I have fellow classmates that took theres 2 weeks ago some cut off at 85 anf others at 202 and inbetween and they all passed. Keep your head up and hope for the best.

Good Luck

I've done considerable research on how the test works.

Cut off at 85?

Relax! You're in:):balloons:

i recently passed the nclex-pn, so here's what worked for me.

1. do 85 to 100 questions daily on the saunders cd-rom and read the rationales for each and every answer. this will get you accustomed to sitting in front of a computer for a lengthy period of time at the actual nclex test center.

2. are there any areas where you're really weak? if so, review them. i was weak in pharm, math, mental health, peds, shock, infections, legal and ethical issues, and obstetrics. therefore, i re-read each textbook chapter that pertained to each of these subjects.

3. learn how the nclex-pn works. if you answer your first question correctly, your next questions will become harder. if you answer a question incorrectly, your next questions will become easier. this kaplan book was so wonderful and helped me pass on the first attempt.

4. know your lab values: electrolytes, wbcs, rbcs, platelets, therapeutic blood levels of drugs, etc. also know what will happen to the patient if each of these lab values is too high or too low.

5. take your nclex as soon as possible. your chances of passing are 80 percent if taken within 2 months of graduating from lpn/lvn school. your chances of passing drop to 44 percent if you wait more than 2 months after graduation to take this test.

go to that nsbn.org or whatever it was and answer those practice questions before you go or you will think it is nothing you have ever seen before. I studied Saunders, Lippencott, and Mosby and still felt unprepared. Check out that site that makes the test. Big B said it was more like the actual CAT test format that they use. Dont stop studying though you need a good base knowledge.
