doing tons of questions, should i repeat them ot get a higher percentage?

Hi, I am preparing for the boards too....NCLEX RN....I've been doing Kaplan with all the Q-trainers and Qbank...I've maxed them out....Now Im wondering if I should do them all over again to retain the information as well as the strategies that I've used...Same with the NCSBN learning ext...I've maxed them out and I dont know if it will help to go over them again???I am scheduled to take the boards on 9/1...any suggestions????

Have you gone back and studied some content in the areas where you had a hard time on the practice questions? That's what I'd do next.

That is true, just go back and review where you did not understand well and probably answer questions and read the corresponding rationales carefully. Try and relax your mind few days to the test, that will do you good and do not be afraid to go and write the test. I wish you good LUCK!

I spent extra time on areas that I knew I was weak at, this seemed to really help me with my nclex pn. Just keep reviewing the material over and over. The best of luck to you!!!!!

I agree with the others, and for what it's worth, there's SO MANY questions on the Qbank and Trainers that you *could* go through them again and many of them you'll think you never saw before. Depending on how much time it took you to use them all in the first place; I found that I re-used questions at random a few days before the exam and there were ones that seemed new :)

BTW, you DID do the "Incorrect Only" choice from the Qbank, right? To re-use any that you got wrong? Once you get them right, they leave the bank, but if you haven't done that option, you still have a whole lotta questions to re-use that target specifically what you got wrong.

thanks to all of you...what i did was go over the questions and the rationales because it helps me better than doing content review itself...With the Kaplan questions, Ive done the unused as well as incorrect items...so i guess i'll continue doing questions over and over again for me to be able to retain the information...i cant do just plain content review...I work well with the rationales...they stick to me more than the content review...if anyone still has any suggestions on what worked for them in terms of reviewing for tne boards...i wud gladly take any piece of advice and try it...maybe it'll work for me too.....

Like you, I do better with content application than plain content review.

I practiced with Kaplan QT's. My first run on the Kap QT's level 1-7, scored from 57% to 69%...reviewed the right and wrong rationales using Saunders. Second time, i got from 79% to 85%. (That's one month in between tests, i also practiced with Saunders Q&A, Mosby's online CAT and Feuer's). Kaplan seems to give the hardest questions.
