To the girl who texted all during the math final...

To the girl who texetd all through the math final I'm sooooo glad that you never came to class and still aced every test but some of us need to concentrate. And I'm also soooo glad that you applied to the same semester of nurisng that I did because you are SUCH a delight to be around with your catty comments and gossiping.

To the girls in speech class who actually went around asking all the other pre-nursing students how many points they had, and then telling them they'll never get in to the program with those points, and then telling them how to improve their score...just shut up. I hope I never have another class with you. You try to make yourself feel more secure by making others feel bad! Karma is a *****!!!

To the pregnant girl in math who was the sweetest person I ever met, and had her baby 9 weeks early and had to drop all her classes a month before the semester was over... Hang in there. I know this sets you back another semester, but you are going to be a terrific nurse! I pray for you and your son everyday!

Well, I've seen these kinds of threads on all the other forums and haven't seen one here so I thought it would be fun to start one.

I have been in school forever (Really...trust me), and I have noticed in the science pre reqs (mostly) there is a tendency of some of the students to rally about after the test and undermine each others confidence.Innocent or not, it has always driven me nuts. The only way to stear clear is to leave directly after the test...and not give in to self doubt.

On the same note, while doing first semester nursing tests there was always a girl talking about how "easy it was..and how she did'nt even study...". She was gone before the final. Never did hear what happened to her ...

Nursing school is REALLY hard. Some days I know the answers and some days it feels like I know nothing. I hope one day to feel more confident , but in the mean time I hang by the friends I have met who truly support each other and are always there with encouragement and insights.

Good luck and don't let it get you down!

then there are those who always have to come out and ask what was the answer to number 33?? i hate the carp diddly that comes with college. it's not an age thing either. there are some older ones like me who do the same thing.

eyes on the prize: nursing licensure!!

to all the people in my anatomy class...

yall are awesome!! :) i wish yall the best of luck in what ever you do!

And then there was the person who would sit behind me during A&P tests. CRUNCHING breath mints the whole freakin' time!

To all the students in my general bio classes who cheated off of one another and got those easy "A's" I hope Anatomy wakes you up. For the ones that did nothing but text ALL semester, I hope your phones break before September and you wake up and realize that you're not in high school anymore.

For the stuck up student that didn't want to do nursing because she thought that all they do is "clean people up", I'm ever so sorry that you had to take a UW for your calculus class. I know how important it is for your much more important major in pharmacy but I think you might want to consider a backup.

And for the students of all the other majors suddenly switching their major to nursing because they think it's the easy major (for some odd reason). I really do hope I have class with some of you so I can watch your jaws drop at the amount of reading, the money you shell out for clinical supplies and the fact that yes we do have a hospital rotation in our first semester of nursing classes. Good luck.

I had a girl ask me outright for a copy of my AP2 test because she hadn't done it yet. EXCUSE ME?!! I *worked* for my grade and won't cheat to get a better one (I refused to take her up on her offer of sharing hers). And, don't come whining to me because the lab was so hard, I spent hours and hours on mine and got a 100% for that reason, perhaps putting it off until the night before is the reason you got a 50%.

Some people are unbelievable.

I like observant people like y'all :)

Omg, a guy I work with can even add two numbers in his HEAD, can't pass algebra because he DROPS every semester, and he just told me he's going to be a nurse and how he should be able to get in really easily because he's a minority. Uhhhhhh...

I just smiled and said, "I wish you the best of luck". I didn't add, "And if I'm ever a patient and see you walk in, I will scream with fear."

cali girl, My first nursing block a fellow nursing student who was always falling asleep in class, not doing his part in group projects and when he ended up in my clinical group..caught him in the lounge reading a magazine instead of tending to patients. He said.."they dont bug me cuz Im a guy..I got ta work to support my family, and I'm a minority" I couldnt believe it.Was no wonder he ended up failing out ..partly for writing down vital signs and assessments on his patients without having ever done a thing but introduced himself and put on his cool stethascope and had them sit up and breath./NOT gossip..I saw it happen. Pitiful..but some folks..I guess failing out for such stunts and attitudes is what wakes them up.We can only hope..for the sake of patient safety. Not that I'm all that and a bag of chips" Im not..but really...

To all the people at orientation who asked the bookstore manager to repeat herself 10 times, I hope for your sanity and mine that you learn to listen the first time. To the nursing department, I hope you can learn how to have the authority to tell people to shut up and listen when they are being spoken to. To the girl who said "I know this question has already been asked, but this is a lot to absorb" you've got another thing coming when we are in our OB/peds rotation. And to everyone else who managed to irritate me at orientation, congratulations on getting into the program but don't complain about your clinical assignments because your day care doesn't open early enough. Wake up and come back down to earth, most of us have kids, and many of us have kids that need to go to daycare while we are at clinicals. You are no different than anyone else and you too will have to figure out a plan. This is so exciting and you are back there complaining, get over it.

I hate complainers too! It's like they could win a million dollars and they would just complain that they have to pay taxes on it.
