I took the Nclex-PN on September 26, and have found out that I failed.
Here is my Performance report..
Below the passing standard:
Health Promotion and Maintenance
Above the passing standard:
Psychosocial Integrity
Near the passing standard:
Pharmacological Therapies
Coordinated Care
Physiological Adaptation
Basic Care and Comfort
Safety and Infection Control
Reduction of Risk Potential
So, I was wondering. How bad did I do, How close was I (if at all)?
Also, any tips for try number 2?

That's a good question because I'm in the process of studying for my second time taking the test as well. Someone advised me to study fresh as if I hadn't taken the exam yet. Also, I'm working on the practice exams in Saunders 4th edition right now so I can utilize Suzanne's study plan. It's all overwhelming isn't it? Good luck!

I would highly suggest considering Suzanne's Plan. I would also read The Random Facts Thread and The Infection Control Thread. It seems you were close so try to hang in there. :hngon:
:flwrhrts:Good Luck!
Yeah, I started Suzanne's first tip also. I think I'm also going to put a little more emphasis on the areas I was weak in.
I'll admit, I was very discouraged after I found out I failed. But I'll also admit that I probably deserved to fail, considering I didn't prepare the way I should have.
Was I close to passing? If so, I feel a little better. Hey, I guess it could have been worse.
The way I look at it, I've already put a year into Nursing. No way I'm gonna give up over one little bump in the road...
A very nice attitude. Stay positive and be proactive in studying. You graduated from nursing school which is an accomplishment in itself. You can do this.
If it helps, our hospitals clinical nurse specialist failed NCLEX twice before passing. She is an amazing and very smart woman whom we all deeply respect. She was an excellent floor nurse too. She spoke at a staff mtg about it and how discouaged she was when she saw she had failed, but, she said she " got over that " and was even more determined to get through the exam and pass it.
Good luck! You can do this.

I am studying for my RN boards for my 2nd trial, and despite the reports I received, I continue to review those "near passing" results.
However, I focused more on my weaknesses, but I don't forget the others. Sure it sounds alot, but a lil goes a long way. I divide my time in increments and I feel more accomplished than overwhelmed.
When I took my exam, I do remember questions that I was unfamiliar with, and when I got my results, I began reviewing those topics that I remembered. I then answered practice questions pertaining to those topics I didn't know to help me understand. I also called my peers to talk about the topics, because by conversing with my peers, I am able to remember more about it, than studying the topics alone.

The second time I took the NCLEX was that I took the Hurst online review. I thought that this review was very helpful and gave the basic information of exactly what we needed to know. Hope this helps!
I had a question about the Hurst online review. Would I be able to stop the online lectures and resume again at that stopping point after I take a break? I ask because on the Kaplan online review, I had to start the lectures all over again when I needed to take breaks - at 6-8 hour long lectures it was a nightmare! How long are each lectures, do you recall?

The Kaplan online videos are at most only 15 minutes each. Did you know that you can scroll over to the upper right corner with and select which videos you want to watch. You can also pause the videos too.
Example:
I. review of content
A. Management of care
1. professional nurse
2. bill of rights
B. Safety and infection control
1. poisoning
2. hepatitis, STD

No way! I had no idea that you could scroll over to the upper right corner! Would have been helpful when I was using Kaplan, however, I have returned the program because I failed the first time and I figured the way I studied was the reason for not passing. Thanks for your clarification though.
