Timeline for endorsing RN license to CA

Published

I am interested to hear anyones experience in endorsing their license into CA. I used the online endorsement as well as the livescan fingerprinting. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

I called today to check about some classes I took prior to my nurses classes, for some reason I didnt think about getting those transcripts sent (duh). The woman I spoke with told me as much as she could which wasnt much but yes I do need those transcripts sent, I wouldnt be able to get a true update until my application has reached its processing date. She did give me my entity number number to include on any correspondence as well let me know that out of state applications can only provide a hard fingerprint card. I had questioned if I could do a live scan near me if there was a problem with my hard card.

To clarify a couple points from this post:

You should plan to have all transcripts from all schools you did any coursework sent because the CA Board specifically wants to see your nursing school prereqs listed on a transcript. CA also has more prereqs than some out of state nursing programs (e.g. communication skills) so even if you didn't do prereqs for nursing at a school, maybe that random public speaking class from there is necessary for endorsement in CA.

Out of state applicants can use Live Scan fingerprints but only if the fingerprinting is done in CA. That's what I did when I endorsed my out of state license.

Previously, in this forum, someone mentioned contacting a local news agency. I found this today. Licensing Logjam For California Nurses | California Healthline

I'm having the same issue because i am considering having to move back Philadelphia to work even t though I just got settled in CA.. I already delayed flying here for 3 weeks, thinking that was enough time, but it doesn't seem like it's getting anywhere. My application posted 5/24 and I've done everything I can think of.

Where are you located? I'm in Oxnard /Ventura right now. I'm willing to drive!

My wait is over! I finally received my temp license August 10th. After submitting my application online and temp application in person on May 19th.

I have sent them multiple emails and have received no response. I have tried calling them and can never get through to them either. Very frustrating. I have a job waiting, but I am afraid they will give it to someone else because they can't continue to wait for me.

Update! I was endorsed July 23rd (originally mailed in January)! My mother contacted her local congressman and someone from their office called the board of nursing twice. I am sure it helped. I just accepted an emergency room job last week!!!! I wish you the best.

I went to the Board once, and my husband went once on my behalf. I felt like it was helpful in terms of getting information like whether X, Y, Z had been received and was ok.

It did not help in terms of speeding up my processing. I believe contacting the CA Department of Consumer Affairs and my CA state assemblymember and state senator did that.

Hi there petchie,

I was wondering what year you graduated back in the Philippines? I will be moving late August and just researching on the things I need to address before leaving Canada. I am also registered in Ontario. Did they ask for your old cases?

Thanks!

Help!

I sent paperwork in mid April. My breeze account showed my submission date as May 5th. My breeze account used to say "Pendig; open" until yesterday. Since yesterday, it doesnt show any status and says "no license information available" on top right corner of the page. I see a license number (not new, there has always been a number) and address change section is still available. But why no information anymore? I tried verifying my license to see if I got the Ca license, but no. I have been calling the bon since yesterday with no luck. I am getting worried. Has this happened to anyone? What may that possibly mean? I have been patiently waiting since April, and now all this.
