I am interested to hear anyones experience in endorsing their license into CA. I used the online endorsement as well as the livescan fingerprinting. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
did you find going in person was helpful? I have heard of people submitting everything in person and doing the livescan fingerprints just down the street and it speeds up the process? I have a residency contingent on me getting my license by October 10th which seems unlikely because I just mailed everything July 28th...
I found going in person extremely helpful since they can actually check your physical file for your transcripts in addition to verifying that your background check and endorsement are good using the computer system. It's also nice to actually talk to somebody instead of being on hold indefinitely or being hung up on because they have "a very high call volume."
However, I live relatively close to the office and can just drive. I don't know if it'd be worth flying to just for a 15 minute chat about your application. If you already live in CA but not near Sacramento, I'd say your efforts are better spent contacting the Department of Consumer Affairs and your local politicians.
I have a problem... I submitted my application and they received it on April 22, 2016. On the BRN website, they actually passed my date for the temporary license and I still do not have it yet. I gave them a call and it was because my Nursys verification was expired (90 days). I made another payment. And now I'm wondering how much longer I need to wait until I have my temporary license. Does anyone know what the procedure is in this situation? Thank you.
what did you say in your complaint? Everything of mine was submitted 5/29, and I just had to move back to IL from CA because I could not work as a nurse! When I called 3 weeks ago, they confirmed they had all of my information (aside from transcripts, as they could not confirm those until my date group (end of may) began processing), and the gentleman I spoke to told me to expect my license in late November. I am completely distraught!!! I don't even know what do write to BON!

what did they say when you asked them about how long it might take?
I had called last week and she told me once you are verified its ok for it to expire (I submitted May 4th and was afraid of this happening). The lady on the phone said that as long as it was verified before the 90 days that is all that mattered. I almost feel like I need to fly out there and see if I can do anything in person, this is just unreal!
Hi imadnr3w,
I contacted nursys support via email (there's a place you can send them a message) about possible expiration of my nursys verification and received an email back saying "Nursys License Verifcation do not expire. The verification remains in nursys until the BON deletes it." They were also able to tell me the date when the CA BON verified my license in the email. I recommend reaching out to them because they respond within 24 hrs and are helpful.

I stated when I applied, what the time estimate was for applications to be processed at the time of my application, what the Board changed the processing times to, how I had a job waiting that was dependent on being licensed, and how, overall, the process is so inefficient and makes it so difficult to obtain status information that it affects licensed professionals from coming to California to help fill the nursing shortage and pay state income tax.
I think the biggest difference was that I had a household in state so I was a constituent.

Thank you, that sounds very professional and right on point! Have you contacted your previous job opportunities and let them know you are now licensed? Did it randomly show up on breeze or did you get your hard copy in the mail first? I have my boyfriend checking our mailbox in CA daily...I don't know what to expect!
