So....I'm breaking up with my S.O. & am moving in freezing February into a new place. That will be in the middle of my semester of accelerated nursing school.
And I'm thinking, "The pain of the break up and chilly move will at distract me from the the miseries of nursing school."
Now maybe that's my sick sense of humor, but I'd almost rather deal with turning my personal life upside down than going to school.
Remember, the Monty Python song, "Look on the bright side of life." That what I'll keep doing.
Enjoy the pain you all...

Caroline tell us how you really feel. :roll
As a new student, your message sounds like you are now excited about having more time to devote to your nursing classes! Am I right? I have such a talent for picking up on people's true emotions. That is why I am going to make a great nurse!
All kidding aside, I'm sorry for what you are going through and I hope your new situation will bring you some peace. Maybe, without the distraction of marital problems your school life will be less hectic for you.
And remember.....When life hands you lemons, put them down your shirt to make your boobs look bigger!!!!!!!

Another use for those lemons that life hands to you ... get yourself some tequila and salt, and you'll be all set:D
It's never easy to deal with things like this, but sometimes being just a little bit "mad at the world" can propel you forward.
Take care of yourself,

Caroline, I hate to say it, but I share your feelings about nursing school right now! Hopefully by January 12th I will be refreshed and ready to roll.
I am sorry for the rough time you are going through. Hang in there!

Could always do what I did when I had S.O. problems--just get lost in school work. Very easy to do in nursing school...
Course then you tend to ignore your issues and they end up coming out in other ways...
sorry for your luck, things will probably work out for the better...

You didn't need that unsupportive S.O. anyway. Joining a convent might be an alternative. Seriously, it would have to be a superman to make me give up my independence. Who needs games when you've got.... NURSING SCHOOL!!!????

Caroline -- Hope you're doing OK. Feel for ya.
Try to put together some kind of an action plan regarding your upcoming situation. Thinking as much as you can ahead of time could be of significant value.
All the best!

Sorry to hear about additional turmoil in your life (besides nursing school).
Is it me, or are there ALWAYS at least one major event per semester that really knocks the wind out of your sail? I mean car breaking down, breaking up with S.O., death in the family, moving, losing a job...you know, BIG things like that.
It NEVER fails for me, there is ALWAYS at least one and sometimes even two events per semester that just demand that my attention be there instead of on my studies.....its VERY distracting.
Good point, Jim. I escaped this last term so I'm a little gun shy right now. Staying positive though!
How true Jim. Just as I'm starting my program, my mom's dying. As I was ending last semester, my only daughter and grand daughter moved away permanently. Is this what John Lennon meant when he said "Life is what happens when you're busy making other plans"?
