QuoteThe abortion law builds on legislation passed in 2010 that represented a major shift for a traditionally Catholic country, transforming Spain into one of the most progressive countries in Europe on reproductive rights. Spain's constitutional court last week rejected a challenge by the right-wing Popular Party against allowing abortions in the first 14 weeks of pregnancy.
The debate will be heated in Spain, I imagine, as the conservative opposition pushes back. My daughter had horrible menstrual pain during her adolescence and young adulthood. I'm certain that she would have benefitted from that time.

Agreed.
I think our VP will make a wise choice. She'll choose someone to contrast with the the unethical and inexperienced liar that Trump chose. She has some good options who have good experience.

As I'm reading about Dems sidelining Biden, Harris being ripped apart by this and that, Biden's dropping out is a threat to Democracy, Harris being linked to the worst president in history, the border the border the border, I'm likely to lay low. The republican party's news organization Fox News is already campaigning against her. I'm one that loves politics and talking about politics, but lately it's been just too exhausting and I have to tune out. I thought I'd be back to posting after the convention, but I'm still exhausted by it all. LOL.
Let me just say that I don't think Democrats sidelined and tossed aside Biden. They saw a weakened candidate and asked him to step down and he did. I predicted he would after the convention but the assassination attempt might have delayed that a bit.
This is unlike a party that has been has remained largely silent to a candidate that lies, cheats, is an adulterer and a felon.
Needless to say I'm Team Harris 10,000%.
I retract this statement in such a short while my exhaustion has turned around. It's all just too interesting right now to have things on mute. I do have a history of tuning out just before the election but we'll see.

Well, if you remember is was the response of people on the left to the assignation attempt that put me over the edge. Whose strategy are you talking about? I'm talking about it all...left and right, Trump and Biden followers.
I do generally get tired of it all but more closer to the election. July is relatively early for me to tune out and I decided not to since Biden dropped out.

Who else put you over the edge besides me? I haven't read about others speaking out on this. I thought the Democratic commentary has been restrained...hypocritical but restrained.

The Democratic commentary as I said was as expected with comments like "violence doesn't have a place in this country...we're thankful he was okay..." etc.
But social media was awash with "they killed the wrong guy" "too bad he didn't die", etc. I even heard it live from a friend, so it wasn't just you. But at the time you said what you did I didn't feel compatible with this forum and needed to simmer down. I've moved on.

No I don't recall.
I'm talking about the strategy of chaos. That's Trump's domain.

I don't find the Trump campaign chaotic really. It did seem organized around Biden's miss steps but it's quickly pivoting. By several accounts his campaign is better managed this go around. Still he lies.

His campaign is not chaotic, he creates chaos. Trump will use legal chaos, he'll use social chaos, he'll create confusion about the processes and procedures used by the DNC. He will use lies and propaganda and bullying to achieve these things for the general public. Chaos is a strategy. Mussolini created chaos with armed men terrorizing people, Hitler created chaos with words and actions. They break things or make them appear broken and then claim to be the only one to fix it.

That campaign strategy seems to be working for him and it doesn't seem chaotic to me. He's done well convincing people what a horrible president Biden is, how the border is letting in the mentally ill and terrorists, that the economy is horrible, etc. Kind of what a normal opponent would do. This go around he seems more of a well oiled campaign stroking the fears of the American public. It bothers me that people believe his lies and know about his lying, paying off a porn star, and felony (well they don't believe it's a felony and it's a sham), but he's carrying on rather nicely.
The Democrats seem more chaotic than him. However, seeing how it's pretty universal that people are getting behind Harris hopefully that chaos will settle down and a winning strategy will emerge.

And I would love to see Mark Kelly for the VP spot.
