Third attempt

Nursing Students NCLEX

I scheduled my third attempt for the 25th. I feel I need to push it back further because I really don't feel prepared..I don't/can't fail another time and my anxiety is getting the best of me. I have been getting very frustrated and losing my ability to concentrate after I do practice questions that I don't do very well on. I don't know what I am to do or how to not be so scared. Any suggestions?

You can do it! My third time around, I changed the test date twice; I wasn't going to set myself up for failure. I also took it later in the day as well. Good luck to you & I would also strongly suggest seeing someone for your anxiety. I did & it helped tremendously!!!

I have really bad test anxiety too. I just passed my NCLEX RN exam on Thursday. I posted the 35 page study on my recent post if you want to download it. Here is a list of items I used to study. If you pm me, I can show you a way to download study items for free except the 97 page study guide which cost $50.

1.) The Kaplan On demand course ( I listened to the lectures, qbank, tests 1-7, pretest & post test, alternate item questions, and the session videos)

2.) LaCharity Prioritization, Delegation, and Assignment: Practice Exercises for the NCLEX Examination, 3e (I didn't do the case study...only the questions)

3.) 35 page study guide (which I attached and is floating around online)

4.) 97 page study guide

5.)Strategies for Alternate Item Formats on the NCLEX-RN® Exam by Linda Anne Silvestri

Congrats on passing! My board exam is in 10 days! I used Hurst, Kaplan on demands too! I also used PDA, Joan workshop i am nervous for my second attempt! Thanks for posting the 35 pages!

Third attempt is in the morning!!! 

Remember to breathe. The only question that matters is the one in front of you. Do not mull over the last one and do not think about the next one because you can't change the last one and your next one hasn't been selected yet.

Remember to read the question. Think about what you think the answer might be, then read all the answers slowly. If the given answers are in the same ball-park as what you were thinking, you might have correctly read the question. Re-read the question, looking for any key words and/or phrases that may provide clues as to what kind of question this is and what it's really asking, and then look at the answers again. Select the most appropriate answer(s) and move on.

The hardest part many of those questions is the "what if" factor. If, when you're reading the question and going over the answers and you have a "what if" moment that would make that answer the right one, you're over-thinking things and that answer may not be the correct one.

Don't do much NCLEX study today, relax your brain a bit, get some good sleep, eat a good breakfast that won't cause you to crash mid-exam and be there early. You've seen this all before, so don't stress out. Just use calm focus.
