  1. Hi, I have been calling different facilities looking for Peds and OB/GYN preceptors with no luck. Do anyone have any pointers on how to get a preceptor to say "yes"? I am very discouraged and doubting myself. I wish these schools would assign preceptors to us.
  2. No, I have not considered private care. I would not feel comfortable going to patients' houses. There are jobs are for nurses with 1+ years of experience, not New Grads.
  3. I moved to Colorado Springs because of my husband's new job assignment. I didn't know most RN jobs here require New Grads to have a Bachelor's Degree. I only have an Associate's degree. I have went on numerous job interviews only to get turned down because of my lack of experience or "I have the experience needed but no positions available". I apply for jobs in a clinical setting in the city and an hour away. It is getting frustrating. I feel like I should just concentrate on school, get my MSN, and then search. I am a new grad with BLS, ACLS, and enrolled in RN to MSN school. I wish I would have research Colorado before moving here.
  4. I forgot to tell everyone to pray everyday, before getting out the car at nclex place, sitting in the nclex waiting room, before starting exam, and after the exam. Prayer changes things. "i can do all things through christ who strengthens me".
  5. I passed my test.. I want to thank you all for your help!!
  6. RNN7, it will be easier to visualize yourself doing each step because my NCLEX questions did not include every step. One question usually have about 10 steps and it only had 4 steps listed. The Kaplan and Alternate question helped with those
  7. I only have a paper copy of the 97 page study guide. If you google 97 page nclex study guide, the link to the youtube video will come up on how to purchase it.
  8. RNN7, I had a couple of arrange in the right order questions on two of my exams. I had a mixture of SATA and pictures.
  9. I approached the SATA as a true or false. If one thing is wrong, I immediately throw the answer out. The study material listed above helps a lot with SATA. A lot of those questions are given in the material. I used the Kaplan strategy on a couple of questions. I looked for the most unstable, safety, and ABCs. The 97 page study guide has some Kaplan stuff on it and more. It is worth it though. I felt content when I took the exam this time.
  10. This is what I used. If you look on my latest post, I attached the 35 page study guide to it. Good Luck. 1.) The Kaplan On demand course ( I listened to the lectures, qbank, tests 1-7, pretest & post test, alternate item questions, and the session videos) 2.) LaCharity Prioritization, Delegation, and Assignment: Practice Exercises for the NCLEX Examination, 3e (I didn't do the case study...only the questions) 3.) 35 page study guide 4.) 97 page study guide 5.)Strategies for Alternate Item Formats on the NCLEX-RN® Exam by Linda Anne Silvestri
  11. I have really bad test anxiety too. I just passed my NCLEX RN exam on Thursday. I posted the 35 page study on my recent post if you want to download it. Here is a list of items I used to study. If you pm me, I can show you a way to download study items for free except the 97 page study guide which cost $50. 1.) The Kaplan On demand course ( I listened to the lectures, qbank, tests 1-7, pretest & post test, alternate item questions, and the session videos) 2.) LaCharity Prioritization, Delegation, and Assignment: Practice Exercises for the NCLEX Examination, 3e (I didn't do the case study...only the questions) 3.) 35 page study guide (which I attached and is floating around online) 4.) 97 page study guide 5.)Strategies for Alternate Item Formats on the NCLEX-RN® Exam by Linda Anne Silvestri
  12. I finally passed my NCLEX RN exam. I was all over the place studying book after book when all I needed was the books and study guides below. If you are like me, I have a short attention span, my mind wonders, and really bad test anxiety. The study materials I used are: 1.) The Kaplan On demand course ( I listened to the lectures, qbank, tests 1-7, pretest & post test, alternate item questions, and the session videos) 2.) LaCharity Prioritization, Delegation, and Assignment: Practice Exercises for the NCLEX Examination, 3e (I didn't do the case study...only the questions) 3.) 35 page study guide (which I attached and is floating around online) 4.) 97 page study guide 5.)Strategies for Alternate Item Formats on the NCLEX-RN® Exam by Linda Anne Silvestri **I was horrible with SATA questions. These items helped me a lot. My exam stopped at 75 questions and I passed. This was my third time taking it. The first time my exam stopped at 75 questions and I failed. The second time it stopped at 169 questions because I ran out of time. ** I bought a calendar and wrote down a daily study schedule all the way up to my test day. I would recommend 30 days to complete this, but if you are easily distracted like me it will take 45 days.
  13. Thanks Loo17, I will continue to study the book then. Thanks for the input.
  14. Yes Jack4nursing you are correct. I have been trying to look up reviews for this book and have not found many.
  15. The first thing that came to mind when looking at the first question was a LPN can not hang blood. Thanks. I have been studying LaCharity and Kaplan for a while now. I decided to try something else.
