i think I failed the nclex shut off at 76

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

I took my exam Yesterday.

Shut off at 76 and all i got were multiple choice and SATA. a couple meds.

I honestly felt like I was swimming in the dark. The questions were not difficult to comprehend but the answers were so vague and similar. I felt like I was guessing.

I wasn't prepared for that. Nclex knows what they are doing. They do not play into popular diseases and or signs and symptoms that they know students will know. Its all random.

Im pretty sure I failed. I am hoping for the best but prepared for the worst. I studied ALOT. Two months. :(

My results are on hold right now so no Pearson Vue trick for me.****

I used Hurst and Uworld (avg 50%), little nclex mastery.

Any positive vibes would be appreciated. :)

Your thoughts and feelings are normal. Try to stay positive. You will find out soon enough how you did. Try to keep your mind off of the exam, I know it is difficult! But you cannot change what is done.

Sending positive vibes your way.

Trust me, I know how you feel. I took the PN NCLEX yesterday and my exam was the same as yours and cut off at the minimum 85. I wanted to cry and I feel like failed. I don't feel like anything that I studied was on the test and it was just like a guessing game. I live in California so its going to be a 4 to 6 week wait for my results. I am so anxious but I just have to keep in mind whats done is done and the only thing to do is wait it out and hope for the best. Just think positive thoughts. Sending good vibes your way :).

Stay positive. The NCLEX process is very scary and I'm sorry that the test was so vague. Please keep us updated, I have a similar UWORLD score! Know that that this feeling is shared by many who take the NCLEX. It isn't just you!

Stay positive. I walked out of the building crying bc I thought I failed. I had 23 SATA. Told my whole family I failed when I got home as well. I passed.

There are countless stories of self doubt after taking the nclex if you browse through this site. Don't beat yourself up until you get the results. Keep us updated.

I wrote my response before reading the others. Missind33 we think alike! I feel like my post is a copy of yours

Thankyou everyone for the positives vibes. I will keep everyone updated. Anyone who took it, I hope you passed :)

Everyone I know, myself included, felt like we failed the NCLEX. Just breathe and relax, what you're feeling is normal. Best of luck!

yes I took mine on 19 and failed... I used full Kaplan and RN mastery... the test was totally different and answers... I agree were so similar ... some I was sure of some... just guess... and it seems did not work... what I do now... I just simple registered for PN and then will take a try to RN again... Good luck all

So I did fail.

Got my results a few hours ago.

I did hurst and Uworld. my avg was a 50% with Uworld.

Its crazy..some of my friends told me to brush up on content on my weak point but to do the Kaplan qbank for the next month.( cause the questions/answers are more like nclex)

I don't have the money to invest in a 300$ plus, course. *

What I noticed on "my" nclex was that it wasn't the questions that were hard to comprehend, it was the answers provided. They were very vague and similar which didn't help very much when it came down to ABC'S or process of elimination.. I really struggled.

Anyone have any luck with failing and switching up their study plan and becoming successful the second time.'

Or any tips in general would be appreciated :)

Hey! I'm sorry to hear you didn't pass, but try to cheer up :)

Failing (anything ) makes you humble.

You will succeed next time :)

I passed my NCLEX- RN on July 17th of this year with 75 questions.

I used the Hurst review ( I know it's expensive ) but if I had to pay for it again I would.

The content review they have is amazing and they also have 6 "mock" tests. I learned more with Hurst than I did in nursing school (I'm serious).

I also used Uworld, averaged 56% , Saunders for reviewing what hurst didn't offer and I did all of the Mastery App.

I did over 2500 questions total and I think that really helped me.

I studied every day 4-6 hours for a month and a half. I did a minimum of 75 questions each day.

Best of luck and I hope my tips help :)

Have you thought of getting the NCLEX RN Mastery app for your phone? They are also making one for laptop. It is really helpful and a lot of people that have used it say that they only use that. I used the LPN version and passed with 85 ?s . It's a lot cheaper than others but has great content and questions, mnemonics, labs, study strategies, terminology, ped lab values, generic drug info, progress and you can mark the ones that you don't know, sort of know and know, for future study use. Covers all areas of study and has sub categories under each main category. Ex: Main category: Psych and Mental Health Sub Categories: Foundations of mental health, medications, mental disorders. ( I picked the shortest one so I wouldn't have to list a lot LOL) Any way you can get it at the playstore on your phone or laptop. Good Luck and you'll get it next time! :)
