i think i failed my nclex test

Published

well, i just came across this website and found it very comforting to see that everyone is very supportive here. i think i failed the nclex because in california we do not have quick results. i found out from friends that we can check for our names on an R.N. license gov website. ( where employers can check the status of your license). i received emails from former classmates saying they pass the nlcex by checking for their name on the site four days after taking the exam. well today is my fourth day and when i checked it this morning, my name did not show up. i feel so depressed. (i'm sure many has felt this way too)

i know it's going to be okay but i feel like i want to hide under my blanket and just drown my self in tears. ( god help me because i don't know how to swim.)

i had everything in place. i moved to san diego from los angeles. my new grad orientation starts tomorrow and my boyfriend and i are moving to our new place next month. i feel sooooo stressed and overwhelm.... i just want to cry. i hate this feeling. i have not slept well for the past three nights. can you please offer some uplifting advice? please....

You never know, here in MD some people's Lic show up the same day of Nclex and some a week latter. I failed the first time with 265, and passed the second time with 85. Took a week to show up online. Keep the faith. I know its hard the first time I failed I had to call my new employer, but they were understanding and postponed my orientation to Oct. So I am starting in 2 weeks. I can not wait, but believe it was devasting to fail, and have to take that test, but I did! Good luck and keep us posted

I totally feel for you. I have been waiting 3 weeks and still do not have my results. I feel like I've failed but I've heard that here in CA you can end up waiting anywhere from 2 days to 5 weeks, maybe more. Just try to relax, start your new grad program and I'm sure you will be fine. Best of luck to you!

Dear moonstars, my heart goes out to you. I was in the exact same situation couple days ago. I thought i'd failed and was so sad coz all my plans were gonna go haywire. But after what felt like eternity I found out that i passed.

The advice I give you is- Everyone goes thorough this phase, just pull through and it will get better. And keep telling yourself that this shall pass too.

Dont even think about not going to the orientation.

I'd decided not to go,but eventually dragged myself to the orientation because suzanne, the moderator told me to and I figered she's been dealing with so many of us in the same situation, she must know something.

I pray that God will give you strength to get through.

All the best and just hang in there. And don't assume that you failed.

Also, there could be a few other reasons besides failure that your license is not listed. In CA, be SURE you have EVERYTHING sent to the CA BON. Something as simple as fingerprints (I think) forgotten or not included in the file can keep you from seeing your license as active. Go over the checklist (if you have one) and be sure that your file for CA BON is complete.

I do hope that you get the good news soon.

Sorry but your friends have given you incorrect information. Each state has its own Board of Nursing and they are not interlinked. An employer has to go to the website of that state to check for a license. California does not participate in early results, there are a few that may know if four to five days, but this is not the norm. Many wait close to three weeks to find out. There is no set schedule as why some hear earlier than others, it also depends on the person that is handling your file.

It is normal to feel depressed after taking the exam, no one comes out feeling good after it, if it is any consolation to you. And the number of questions that you had is no indication either.

Get some sleep, you have a new day ahead of you tomorrow............... :)

((HUGS)) Moonstars,

I really think we ALL have felt we proboly didn't pass the exam, mind you, I took it back in the DARK AGES, when it was on PAPER, and NO computor age to get results fast, it was a 6-8 week waiting process, heck, now you can retake the test in that time if needed. Moonstars, don't give up! Keep your head high, it will all be okay, I assure you.

Just relax. I swear California is the worst state to take the NCLEX in because they make you wait way to damn long to find out your results. Every state shoudl participate in quick results. We'd all by a lot calmer if they all did.

Just because yoru friends saw there name four days after they took it doesn't mean you failed. I had a friend receive her license in the mail before she even saw her name on the website. California is all messed up. Just relax and wait for the mail, it's the only way to do it in Cali.

Best of luck. I'm sure you did GREAT! Keep us posted :)

Brandi :)

thank you everyone...

i just got home from orientation for my new job. it was a long day but... all done now. i got my first night's rest that was well deserved. i greatly appreciate all the advice from each of you. it makes me want to cry knowing that you DO understand. wow talk about a huge emotional rollercoaster. :uhoh3:

thank you so very much and i will keep you posted....

I'm sorry you have to wait so long. So many ppl come out feeling like they failed. I have my own theory on the NCLEX! So if you feel you failed you probably passed.

Congrats on starting your new job! I start in 3 wks.

Ohh my gosh. You sound like me 2 weeks ago. My colleagues received their results in 2-3 days. Mine took 8 days to get results. I was going insane.

Keep your head up, I know it's hard.
