Things you would love to tell your management and get away with

I love the thread things you would love to tell your pt and get away with.

But to be truthful for me I love the pts and rarely want to be horrid to them. However I do have lots of things I would like to say to the management and get away with my job. So here are a few things

1/ No you take the extra pt and flex up why should I

2/ Stop sitting on that fat bum and come out here and do some real work for a change.

3/ I wouldnt trust you to help me with my pts because you have no skills left so would be useless

4/ Do you even remember what it was like to work as a floor nurse

5/ Why would I ask you how to do anything you are not upto date and never know the answers

6/ In these days of financial crisis why are you getting an extra shift per week?

It is NOT okay to tell people that are single and/or don't have kids that they can work as many extra shifts or holidays as needed (and then schedule it accordingly)....just because I don't have kids of my own doesn't mean I don't have a family that I'd like to spend the holidays with, too. And since you scheduled me Thursday-Sunday on Thanksgiving weekend, I didn't get to do that. Thanks a lot. My time (and my single co-workers' time) is valuable, too

I see this is a lot and it irriates me too. I do have kids but we schedule our special days around special days and we are all cool with this. I do feel RN's with kids feel they deserve special treatment round holidays but we all love Christmas (well the ones who celebrate)and Thanksgiving and well I am going out on a limb to say 99% of people do have families who they would like to spend special days with.

I like the system where you work one one yr and you are off the next year if you want to be.

Dear Boss,

I would love to have been told we lost our contract before you told the travellers or around the same time would have worked too!!!

Dear Boss

I understand that JHACO are visiting but I would like to know before friday if I have a job next week or should I start looking? Afterall it is Tuesday. Patience isnt really relevent to me at the moment.

Dear Boss

I think your communication skills suck I would have liked to be told all this information by phone as text messaging is not a great way to communicate we lost our contract with the hospital

I'd just love to be able to say: I've really enjoyed this job. Sure, it's had it's drawbacks, at times, but a lot of plusses, too. I'm grateful for all the opportunities you've given me. But it turns out, I just won $60 million on the lottery, and I'm afraid commuting from the south of France just isn't going to be practical, so I'm going to need to let you give my wonderful job to someone who needs it.

Oh, and I'd like to donate $10 million to the hospital, but I'm going to need to earmark 500,000 for a place for people to smoke.

We have that system too, but unfortunately, it was my holiday and my weekend to work. That only left Friday, and they put me on Friday as well. The shift I work made both a lunch or dinner with family impossible. :(

Dear Boss,

Its good to know that you appreciate the job I'm doing, so much so that you gave me more responsibility.

I don't need another letter in my personnel file congratulating me on a job well done.

Give me a god damn raise to show your appreciation. Stop feeding me that line that the corporation has to keep costs under control. The corporation's cost control doesn't affect the CEO now does it?

It is by no means my fault if a patient refuses particular things due to their own cultural or religious beliefs, get a clue and stop being so judgemental, go speak to them yourself and see what you can work out, i am not forcing anyone.

If i do not answer the phone at home on my time off, after the one hundred times you call me, it is not because im not home, it's because i know it's you calling with the caller id and refuse to answer it because i just am not paid enough to have to deal with the drama you carry on with everyday and night.

Stop killing the forests by getting all those trees down in order to make the paper for the mountains of forms that you insist i fill out, half of them say the exact same thing in just different damm wording!

Do not talk to me with that "if you have time" kind of tone, like when you say "there is another patient i need you to see to and put somewhere, if you have time and space". It is not you asking me to do something and asking me if i have time to do it and a place for them to go, it is you telling me to find space and find the time, don't act so phoney, i can see right through you.

I too want to be paid to sit around, drink coffee, attend imaginary meetings in front of the soap operas in my office on television and eat biscuits and cake and get paid for it all just like you do, so how about, just to mix things up a little, we swap for the day, i do nothing but laze about and boss you around and treat you like a slave, and you run around until it feels like the bottom of your feet can no longer feel anything stressed out and dealing with an overload of everything from patients to paperwork all whilst being disrespected by me whilst i sit on my big fat lazy backside in my office telling you to toughen up and it isn't that hard. Then we will see how you handle it, you'd be in a fetal position on the floor rocking back and fourth sobbing after an hour or two.

Well, lately at work we have a few clicks and these nurses are quite immature and management excuses this behavior because "they are young and immature". So they put a "year in review" in everyone's mailbox and I pretty much said "Just because some of these younger nurses are immature does not excuse some of the unprofessional behavior that goes on. They have a license and are professionals and they need to start acting like it."
