The Trump Thread

Published

I confess to back pedaling into Trump territory when I wanted to leave discussions about him in the garbage can.  My thread on the read-only break room site has 9,600 replies so I thought I'd bring up a new one.

He's not going away.

Haberman's book is out based on interviews.  I won't read it, but the excerpts are interesting.  Especially what he says about McConnell, a description that's against the Terms of Service here, but I actually don't disagree with.  LOL

Quote

“At one point, Trump made a candid admission that was as jarring as it was ultimately unsurprising. ‘The question I get asked more than any other question: “If you had it to do again, would you have done it?”’Trump said of running for president. ‘The answer is, yeah, I think so. Because here’s the way I look at it. I have so many rich friends and nobody knows who they are.’ … Reflecting on the meaning of having been president of the United States, his first impulse was not to mention public service, or what he felt he’d accomplished, only that it appeared to be a vehicle for fame, and that many experiences were only worth having if someone else envied them.”

I was going to say this.  Agree the photo is misleading intentionally to discredit Trump.  I looked into it because I know how social media can be and saw the video.   He did turn around with concern but let other people handle it.  I would have done the same with all those other people on it, they wouldn't have needed me to butt in (if I were a lay person and not nurse that is).  RFK Jr. bolted away, maybe to make room for other people but people are mocking this too.

I find it interesting when people post something and try to tell us it's something its not.  They have to know its not going to fool me.  They probably know that most Trump haters are going to accept what they are told without looking into it is since it confirms their bias.  I'd be offended that theyre insulting your intelligence.

I believe I saw Dr Oz point to him and say "you, call 911.  Get the AED."

I can accept that explanation.   Except in the days of cell phones you anyone could have pulled out a phone to call 911 and why would JFK, Jr. know where the AED was?

Satire.

Is there a follow up?  Is he okay?

Just read that Dr. Oz spoke with the man that passed out and he's okay.

I was trying to be funny.  I've been teaching CPR.  The one for laypeople.  The rescuer is supposed to point to  a bystander and instruct them to call 911 and get AED.

People magazine is usually pretty straightforward imo, even though it's an anonymous person describing the incident. I wouldn't mind having Dr. Oz around if myself or others crumpled to the ground. But I thought he proved there's a real doctor inside the TV doctor.

yes...I caught that and was being satirical back.  Fell flat I guess.  LOL

This is the place to discuss Trump's somewhat alarming deteriorating cognitive health, right? Do you see the signs of sundowning? Are we buying the explanations about the bruising on his hands being from hand shaking trauma? Do we all agree that full body MRIs are not routine feature in health maintenance examinations and that is unacceptable that the actual results aren't revealed? His judgment seems fragile and unreliable.

This isn't good.

Sure.  Enjoy!

Thank you. You have no comment about the POTUS falling asleep in meetings with a droopy mouth? Or the fits of rage, like when he shouted at the citizens in his "unprecedented" remarks mid month?

Just kidding.  I can tell that you don't care if he's mentally ill or demented by the threads I've read.

Do you think we're better off if Vance took over?  I would entertain that idea.

We don't really get a choice in that.  We certainly won't likely have to endure the current president's hobby of putting his name and gold leaf all over the government after he dies.  It will be interesting to see what lies Vance tells about his sudden advancement when Trump can no longer be propped up or actually dies. He certainly hasn't been a bastion of facts and truth while Trump is alive.

Vance did seem to be building a video catalog to bolster any upcoming campaign he might have.  It's unlikely any potential opponent could convince the military to let them make that kind of campaign film with them. Clever move, like pulling the leader of the Christian Nationalist movement so close after the martyrdom of the group's developer.
