The Trump Thread

Published

I confess to back pedaling into Trump territory when I wanted to leave discussions about him in the garbage can.  My thread on the read-only break room site has 9,600 replies so I thought I'd bring up a new one.

He's not going away.

Haberman's book is out based on interviews.  I won't read it, but the excerpts are interesting.  Especially what he says about McConnell, a description that's against the Terms of Service here, but I actually don't disagree with.  LOL

Quote

“At one point, Trump made a candid admission that was as jarring as it was ultimately unsurprising. ‘The question I get asked more than any other question: “If you had it to do again, would you have done it?”’Trump said of running for president. ‘The answer is, yeah, I think so. Because here’s the way I look at it. I have so many rich friends and nobody knows who they are.’ … Reflecting on the meaning of having been president of the United States, his first impulse was not to mention public service, or what he felt he’d accomplished, only that it appeared to be a vehicle for fame, and that many experiences were only worth having if someone else envied them.”

I noticed that you are trying to project Trump's mental illness onto Biden while you craft some weird story about the demented president getting pushed out when the president is still the president but did step out of the political contest. Gosh, team Trump wants to keep campaigning against Biden.

Trump will never step aside.  Trump is clearly already more cognitively impaired than Biden is on his worst days.  That was my entire point; Trump's bad choice in VP is a dangerous liar who will be executing and implementing P2025 while Trump's waves and dances and pretends that's he's the boss. When it's politically expedient, Vance will initiate Trump's removal because it will be clear that Trump is mentally ill and cognitively impaired and unable to complete the duties of his office.

Is it Trump's "mental illness" or your speculation of cognitive decline I'm protecting?  I never said Biden was mentally ill.

Turns out Trump was right.  Again.  It's remarkable how often this happens.  And how slow the liberal propagandist press is to cover it.

"President Trump, as you know, the FBI says overall violent crime is actually coming down in this country," Muir responded.

Trump immediately pushed back.

Excuse me," Trump told Muir. "They were defrauding statements. They didn't include the worst cities. They didn't include the cities with the worst crime. It was a fraud. Just like their number of 818,000 jobs that they said they created turned out to be a fraud."

A recent FBI revision appears to back Trump. After reporting there was a 2.1% drop in violent crimes in 2022, the FBI now admits there was actually a 4.5% increase. "

In your assessment of the Trump vs Biden presidencies, is there room for measurable benchmarks?  Or will it be based on feelings?

Will the rhetoric from the left and anti-Trumpers make room for the truth? Or continue to be detached from reality?

Yes, it is remarkable when a pathological liar stumbles into something that looks like truth while he's busily telling lies.

There's so little reality attached to Trump's campaign that it's laughable that you would mention detachment from reality.  After all, according to Trump, Trump is a stable genius who knows more about campaign finance, TV ratings, ISIS, social media, courts, lawsuits, politicians, the legal system, trade, the US government, renewable energy, taxes, debt, money, infrastructure, borders, Democrats, construction, the economy, technology, drones, and the military than any one else.  Trump is the GOP's exclusive source and expert on all manner of topics. It's important to make a big deal out of the occasional time that he steps in some truth.

I expect y'all to go on and on about Trump's lonely truth while pretending that Trump is capable of articulating a plan to address violent crime that doesn't involve violence or random rants about oil, tariffs or immigrants with some personal grievance thrown in.  Your candidate needs to get lucky because he is largely unable to effectively communicate without revealing the enormity of his weakness at this point.

Yeah Typical.  Did you even watch the video? He didn't say that. If you click the link, it doesn't say that either. So you have been duped by click bait propaganda that you didn't even watch. 🤔

I guess when all you got left is to critique Trump because his mic stopped functioning then it makes Republicans happy. LOL

Well, his plan to reduce violent crime isn't supporting far left radical ideas of "no cash bail" and fundraising for for bail of violent rioters. Like Harris did and will continue to do if elected.

Trump is capable of gaining the support of millions of Americans and just might be your president again.

Yes. A demented man was replaced with Harris because his party saw that he had no chance of winning so they pushed him put. Only days before proclaiming "he is as sharp as a tool.". If only it was about his health and not retaining power.

I see that as another possible Trump presidency nears, the shift has extended to Vance. As the democrats and left msm have failed in changing the minds of half Americans that Trump is the evil orange man.

So now insert fantastical scarry stories of Vance's plot to stage a take over.

I thought it would be clear that "Trump is mentally ill" the first time.

Desperation isn't a great look.

LOL

All of that sounds desperate. You just aren't good at projection.

You don't have any idea what you said, apparently.  At this point your responses are bordering on emotional gibberish.

Thought I'd step in here and post an interesting little blurb I found in the most recent issue of The WEEK magazine:

TUNIS, TUNISIA / New authoritarian:     Tunisian President Kais Saied won re-election this week in a landslide with 91% of the vote, after jailing all his major potential opponents. Critics called the election a sham and accused Saied of establishing a new authoritarian regime in the country that had sparked the 2011 Arab Spring by kicking out longtime dictator Zine El Abidine Ben Ali.  Saied won his first term democratically, but in 2021 he dismissed parliament and installed a rubber-stamp legislature. Rhomdhane Ben Amor, spokesman for the Tunisian Forum for Social and Economic Rights, said "He believes he has a divine mission that would fulfill the people's will." Saied's closest challenger, businessman Ayachi Zammel, took 7.4% despite spending much of the campaign in jail.

Sound kinda like someone running in the US for a second term?

They're eating the dogs, they're eating the cats.

Gov. Kemp has been trying to call the president, and can't get him.

The federal government and NC democrat governor have been going out of their way to not help republican areas.

How many Trump lies do you think could be listed for every truth Trump has spoken during his presidential campaign? What do you suppose that ratio is?

Another story about the discrepancy in crime reporting. It turns out, gathering crime statistics is complicated.

What does new FBI data show?

Violent crime - as recorded by the FBI - includes homicide, rape, robbery and aggravated assault reported to and recorded by police forces.

Its latest report shows that violent crime fell by an estimated 3% between 2022 and 2023.

Murder and non-negligent manslaughter reduced by 12%, the largest drop in the last 20 years.

The report also shows falls in:

Rape by 9%

Robbery by 0.3%

Aggravated assault by 3%

In 2023, the FBI recorded a rate of 363.8 violent crimes per 100,000 people, down from the 2022 rate of 377.1 violent crimes per 100,000 people.

The agency revised the violent crime rate between 2021 and 2022.

Previously, the figures showed a 2.1% fall over this period, now the agency says there was a 4.5% rise.

The FBI did not publicise this change, which has led to some criticism.

Ames Grawert, a crime researcher at the Brennan Center for Justice, told BBC Verify that the revision was "likely the result of a change in the way FBI collected crime data in 2021".

So they change the method depending on the year? Yes. That's just eludes trust doesn't it?

Still that's a 6% discrepancy. Doesn't change the fact that this wasn't a Trump lie and reflects what millions of Americans see in their own cities

The problem is some say everything he says is a lie and how many times has it been the truth? Still wonder why people do not trust left media and democrats?
