Found this on Facebook and it made me laugh, I am always shushing people who start to stay the "Q" word (quiet), because usually when someone remarks on how quiet it is, suddenly, it's not.

What are some other things that you say/think? Myths, superstitions, "sure signs" that you know of as a nurse?

And yes, this is what is called a "fun thread" so let's not make it all serious and junk lol. (Except: The Q word one is DEAD serious!)

I always use the term "mellow". The 'Q' word is verboten in my vocabulary!

I used to say the day was "adequate"

I've heard that if you say the Q word once, if you say it again, it cancels the first one out...

The calm before the storm....blech! I remember that too. Sometimes I would say it out loud in the nurses station :rolleyes: "Can you feel it?....it's the calm before the storm" We all knew it was coming :sofahider:

We use the term "uneventful" but that is almost too close for comfort.

I don't try to find synonyms for the "q" word... I find that the word itself knows that that's what you meant and everything will go to pot anyway. Even synonyms of the "q" word are forbidden...

Nope. Learned it yesterday, first day on the job, and everyone gasped...

just one way the "young" can ensure they will be "eaten"...
