The Pearson Vue trick

Published

I took my NCLEX yesterday Feb 14 and stopped at 75 questions. I knew I passed when it went off because the questions seem so much easier than Kaplan's and I guest I was well prepared. I did the PVT yesterday and today (24hrs later) it says "The Candidate currently has test results that are on hold. A new registration cannot be created at this time." However, I am sure I pass! Anyway, my question is, what is the difference between the "test being on hold" with "our records indicate......?" is it the same thing? Maybe different states say it differently?I see that some people have either one of those and was wondering if they meant the same thing? Anyone have a clue???

Hold is not indicative of pass or fail. Your quick results will not be available until the hold is lifted. Your BoN won't receive results until the hold is lifted. Holds are a QA/QC audit of your check in, Palm scan, keystrokes, testing, audio & video. Generally holds last 24-72 hours while the audit is completed. Audits can be for test anomalies (test too quickly, unusual answer pattern) minor or major rule violations (standing up rather than raising hand to suspicion of cheating ), issues with palm scan, computer glitch, etc.

Nothing can be done until the hold is lifted

It took me about 2 hours to finish the 75 questions. Everything went well except that the person that sign us in could not take our signature because something was wrong with the system. OMG, I wasn't worried but now I am!

If you did nothing wrong then you have nothing to worry about. They must maintain test integrity so any anomaly must be investigated. If you cheated you'd need to worry about a BoN investigation and results invalidated. If it was a check-in/out issue the reports, videos etc will show you did nothing wrong.

Hurry up and wait is the hardest part

Oh no, I am not in the business of cheating. Hate when people cheat, especially in nursing. Plus it would be stupid to go there and cheat (don't know why people do stupid things like that). I am worried because I don't know if I pass or not. Even though I felt good through out the exam, you never know for sure what you will get in nursing exams until you see your results. I followed the rules everything was good. Just at the beginning (before I even got to the exam room) their computer was not taking the people ahead of me signatures. She had to call some people and we had to wait for about 15 minutes and the people she called told her to do everything else except the signature part and allow us to go test than waiting any longer.

I'm in your shoes now. I just took my NCLEX today and it stopped at 75 questions. I was so excited because I have heard people said that high chance to have a "pass" with 75 questions. I've became freaking nervous after I read that people could still fail with 75 questions on the web. 75 means nothing now. 48hr is a freaking torture. I can't tell if my test questions are easy or hard. I had no math question, I had one ECG, 10 questions about meds. I had about 10 - 20 SATA questions and place actions in order. I don't know if I got them right. I'm freaking tired of myself been so nervous. I wish there is someone can just tell me if I pass or not

I am SO nervous too!! I had 75 questions 2 drag and drop about 6-7 SATA few meds, priority, who would you see first etc.. I did the pop up 45 minutes after leaving and got the good pop up but have been reading now it doesnt mean anything if its before 24 hrs?! So nervous!!

If this were vegas I'd put all my money on you passing

When I took my test it was a little before Pearson VUE started administering the test so there was no way to check with the test administrator as to whether we pass/fail. What we were able to do (and you can still do it now) is perform a licensee look up for your name and see if there's a license attached online. I knew I passed after only three business days and my employer used it to advance me to nurse instead of aide prior to receiving the hard copy in the mail. I cannot see why it would be any different now.

Some States are very quick about updating their websites, doing so only a day or two after receiving confirmation of passing results. Others update once per week, or every couple/few weeks. California is notoriously slow, taking weeks for applicants to see a license number.

I passed. I don't event need to pay $7 for QR. My licenses # is posed under the my name according to my state board

Hello everyone, been so happy and forgot to come back and update! I passed! It is such a great feeling. Wish each and everyone of you the same! Oh and congrats to all of you that just passes too!!!
