The Mockery of Nursing

Published

Just a bit ago the top three threads involved:

1.I have a DWI. Can I be a nurse?

2.I am stupid. Can I be a nurse?

3.If it takes me five times to pass NCLEX, Can I be nurse.

Not much left to add. Says it all.

OCNRN...Hi! I love your avatar....meant to tell you that ages ago....

Re: the Siamese cat....this kitten is the 3rd one I have had in my life (had many other cats that were just cats)...and they were all a bit special...but this one takes the cake. She eats anything from spaghetti to pita chips with hummus and begs worse than my little Shih tzu, Oreo (another story for another time...for those of you who remember Bella my pug who I lost at Xmas)....

but she is funny and beautiful and crazier than a box of frogs.

Mazy, my daughter is in Vet school and I will ask her about the kitty dementia...but I think it's possible...my friend had a cat that lived to 24...and then they actually had him euthanized! No telling how long he would have gone on...

I think the ONLY saving grace regarding the Criminal history forum is that most of the posters and responders seem to be made up of the pre pre, pre and nursing student variety...and the usual assortment of wannabees....with a liberal dash of new grads thrown in who are lamenting on whether they can sit for the NCLEX with that (fill in the blank) charge........

Well, I finally went over and read all about all the criminal nurses. Wow! I would just like someone to tell me how they manage to get 2 DUIs? And, if you're stupid enough to get 2 DUIs, what makes you think you're smart enough to save someone's life by making a split second decision?

Okay, my b**** cap is off! Back to normal now! It helps that I just opened a beer.

Well. I guess I have no choice. I'm going to have to check out the criminal forum. I have my face and my palm at the ready.

That's so funny...I had a spaghetti eating cat too. He would turn his nose up at fish, but if you were making pasta he would start bawling his head off until you gave some. No sauce, just the pasta. Weird.

OK. Well that was a short trip. I couldn't handle much of the criminal forum. I guess the weirdest thing about that forum is how casual everyone is about this stuff.

Especially the one who got her LPN (RN?) license, got wasted, and then drove her car into a house....and she did clarify for the readers that yes, she literally drove her car into the inside of a house. She didn't seem to be all that concerned about it, other than how was it going to affect her ability to get a nursing job.

Everyone seemed to take it all in stride.

Oh well. I'd be interested to know if cats can get dementia.

And, if they steal my food, scratch up the upholstery, and pee on my floor can they still go to nursing school?

Only if they have suspenders connected to their ears, mind you cats show more butt crack than most of us. Or manybe my cat is just mooning me. hmmmmm.

I always thought that if I drunk enough alcohol whilst wearing my scrubs, the fumes surrounding me would be enough to kill off any fomites. Am I the only one? :)

Why no, but do remember, you must let alcohol sit for 15 minutes before it actually kills anything. So, just drink steadily for the first 15 mins, then you can shoot pool and socialize fomite (and fancy!) free.

I don't have you're nerve. But the song "Another one bites the dust." comes to mind. I'm happy in my delusions, is it ethical for you to make me see reality? You are a mean nurse who eats her young.

Welcome back! Missed you!

Just wanted to jump in and say "I'm baaaaccccckkkkkkkk"......had been out since December or so....just some illness and lot's going on.

Posted here because it's so very like "our" thread from last summer....Kudos to those who started and have managed to keep it going!

Will be jumping in now and again...pretty much my opinions have been already voiced by Ruby, GreenTea, Wooh, nurse56, mazy, Joanna and the "COBs".....

Ah, now carry on!

the D

I would like a Code Brown top with Tube Feed Tan pants. Do these come in Tall?

Colors for the upcoming season of Fomite Factory Professional Scrubs:

Tube Feed (tan)

Liver Failure (a mustard yellow)

Code Brown (duh, brown!)

Iso Gown (ceil blue)

Trach Suction (celery green)

Bowel Prep (a pale yellow)

Necrosis Negro (black with a spanish flare??)

Color Me Granulated (dark pink)

Purulent Drainage (not the most flattering color, sort of a bone-yellow blend) ;)

Those, of course are the solids.

We will offer a paisley pattern suitable for hiding ketchup and bbq stains, as well as the occasional spilled marguerita.

Hey Diva! Welcome back. I was wondering what happened to you.

Only the ones that are fomite-free. It's a real pain picking those fomites out of your teeth.
