The kiddos are done, too

Hi friends!

I'm a long time stalker and ogler, but a seldom poster. But..

I'm fried. The end of the year, thank goodness. I travel between two elementary schools, all day long, five trips in all. Last Friday I had a total of SIX fight assessments from one of my schools, and three from another. No serious injuries, except for one, but a lot of ELEMENTARY school kiddos pummeling one another for this reason or that. The kids are fried , too, I think. This is our last week, THANK (insert whatever deity here.)

Bet wishes to y'all,

Magigal

We have today, tomorrow, and a 1/2 day Friday...I am so done, our kids are so done....can we just call it now?

We have 10 days left of school and I think our kiddos are done, too! Even efforts to go home are only at 50%. Yesterday's primary complaint for most of our visits was "I just have a stomach ache..."

I'm sorry to hear about the fights, though. :( I'd have to add sadness to my doneness if I saw an increase in fights toward the end of the year here. I have only been at this for five months but I feel like I am dirtily and raggedly crawling towards the finish line.

Best wishes to you too!

SIX SCHOOLS????? :banghead:

Oy.

And you've just made me feel spectacularly happy about 2100 kids in one building. Hang in there.

Same here. Our Seniors are done and just practicing the graduation walk twice a day. The rest of the campus has a full day today and exams/exemptions Thursday and Friday. That means a skeleton student body after today, however today I will have to hide in my office because the kids will not stay in classes.

YES, kids are out of control lately! They just want out! I have seen over 60 kids per day, and those are just the ones I get to write down! (400 kids in pk-6).

And the fights are crazy too!

19 days and counting...but really, who is counting?? I AM!!

90% of my complaints for this week have been stomach aches. I find a lot of kids have anxiety about the school year ending. It's the constant in their lives. It's a safe place for them to go, a place where they know they'll be fed, be loved on, etc. Some of them get so attached to their teachers, they have serious separation anxiety this time of year. Some of them are going to be staying home alone for long hours, or going to day programs where they don't know anyone, won't have food in their homes, etc.

I got 2 more days, the kids have one more day! HURRY UP SUMMER!

Oh man, sorry. It isn't six schools. I'm technically responsible for four, but travel between two every single day, with a minimum of five trips back and forth between the two. Trips to the others as needed.

The six fights were at one elementary school, with three other fights at the other school that day. It just seemed crazy for little kids!

Thanks, love you guys!
