The HRSA nursing scholarship is available now. I just submitted my application although I'm probably a long shot.
If you're interested in pursuing a career in healthcare, you may be eligible for a scholarship through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). The HRSA Scholarship Program is designed to support students in various healthcare disciplines who are committed to serving underserved communities and helping to address the shortage of healthcare professionals in those areas.
HRSA offer scholarships to help pay for health professions' education.
All Scholarship awardees will provide a one-year service commitment for each year of scholarship support received.
The application cycle typically opens in late Winter or early Spring and closes in late Spring or early Summer, so be sure to check the website regularly for updates.
To be eligible for the HRSA Scholarship, you must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in an accredited program that leads to a degree in one of the following disciplines:
You must also be a U.S. citizen, a national, or permanent resident.
Have no federal judgment liens and service commitment.
If you meet the eligibility criteria, you can apply for scholarship through the HRSA's online application system.
If you have any questions about the program or the application process, the HRSA offers resources and support to help guide you through the process. Don't miss out on the opportunity to receive financial assistance while pursuing your dream of a career in healthcare and serving those in need.

i have chosen the Accelerated BSN route to get my RN degree. I have no RN degree right now. I have a bachelor in psychology, and went back to the 2nd degree accelerated program in which you get your BSN in one year for those who do not hold any type of RN license, but who hold a non nursing bachelor degree. So you think I will be eligible?
You are not eligible, only asn, bsn (not accelerated), or diploma. Here's the link.

"PLEASE NOTE: Students enrolled in LPN programs, self-paced study programs (online), bridge programs or dual degree programs are not eligible for a scholarship award."
I do not see anything saying you cannot be attending an accelerated program. As far as "only asn, bsn, or diploma", you are also eligible if you are working towards a graduate degree, although not in the first funding preference.
I was looking through last years thread and someone reported that they received the award and were in an accelerated program.
I am curious though, was it the email or the live call taker that told you that accelerated programs were ineligible? What did they say?
Did anyone else submit the online application and get a message that said:
"You do not meet the first funding preference. You are not required to submit the supporting documents at this time."
I know I was a long shot, but I didn't think they wouldn't even accept my documents until they needed to.
bluebird 12, i didn't because i put my efc a 0. i misunderstood at first. as u know, we can't edit our applications after it submitted. so, i attached a letter to tell them that was my mistake. i sent all my docs out yesterday. i don't think i will get an award because my efc is $ 21233. but who knows? there are 500 awards, i might receive the last one.
good luck everyone!!

Are you in the second or third funding preferences? Ie...EFC of 0 but going to grad school or only part time? I am going for a BSN and my EFC was 0...the message I got was that I was in the first funding group and then gave a list of things to send in.
Sent mine in today... whew! I feel like applying for this was more intense than applying for nursing school was. :) I checked, double checked, and triple checked everything and still was a little scared to send the envelope through the mail slot.
I wonder how many applications they'll receive this year. I want to feel like I have a good chance at this (I'm solidly in the first-preference group) but I don't want to get my hopes up either. July 31st seems like an eternity away! :-/

An Accelerated BSN is not a bridge program (those are RN-to-BSN) or a dual degree program (that means two degrees simultaneously). Accelerated BSNs are eligible for the scholarship, as far as I can tell, but many people going into an ABSN program are career-changers who have been working and thus have an EFC above zero, which puts them very low on the preference tiers for funding. I *think* that's why it seems a lot of soon-to-be ABSN students are finding themselves essentially ineligible.

Are you already a nurse and getting your BSN or have you chosen the BSN route to get your nursing degree? If it's the latter, you should still be eligible.
