Hi All!
I'm a crazy father of 2 ex-premed who just recently turned down Northwestern to go into a RN program.
I already have an Associate in Science, but I'll be getting another ADN and then go to a 4 yr school.
When I went to an info session about the RN program ill be trying to get into, out of like 70 ppl only 5 were guys.
So I want to know are there any men out there?
21 y/o second semester student in an ADN Program in Illinois, and loving nursing school so far. It is tough, but with every grade and exam I feel closer to my dreams of obtaining that RN! Just finished my OB rotation, and it was very exciting/fun/relaxed time now onto Med-Surg. Good luck everybody!
Recently took a comp test to get in to a nursing program at the local Technology College. I'm a 28 year old male, honorable discharge from the Air Force and currently a personal trainer. The comp test was English and Algebra, I made a 97 on Eng and an 85 on Algebra... I was handed the app to the program and I have all of my financial aide paperwork turned in... Do you think these grades are good enough to get me in? Sooo ready to start this career
Put in my application for a 3 year BSN program last month, hoping to interview in April. Previously a medic in the regular Army, then an infantryman in the National Guard. Currently working as a psychiatric nursing assistant in a VA behavioral health unit. From the people who've gone through the program I'm pretty competitive on paper, so hopefully I'll be accepted this year. If not I'll knock out the non-nursing bachelor's requirements at the host university for extra discretionary points when I apply next year.
Hi guys,
BS in Computer Science in 1974. BS in Business Admin in 1995. Spent 35 years in IT. Went back to school 5 years ago, full time. Accelerated 2nd degree BSN program at Georgetown. Finished at GU in 2011 at age 59. Now a medical oncology nurse (outpatient) in DC.
No matter your age or previous career, you can do this!
21 year old here from Louisiana wrapping up my pre-reqs and looking to take the entrance exam soon. Trying to decide between a BSN or an ADN program. Paying out of pocket here. But it is good to see there are so many guys that are also in the nursing field. I am already working in ICU as a tech and we have right about a 6 female to 4 male ratio. I am very excited to start nursing school wherever it is. :)
