Hello All,
I just got accepted to The College of New Rochelle's Accelerated Nursing Progam starting in June 2015. I AM OVERJOYED, I have some things to smooth out before the start of the program (taking 2 CLEP exams) but I am so excited. I completed my first bachelors in Sept 2014 , so I am excited to get back into school. Has anyone attended the College of New Rochelle? Any tips/advice/comments? Let me know!
I spoke to the lady from the college and you were right. There were more letters sent out then there were available seats. They have received my deposit and I had no issues making the payment. However I was placed on the waiting list for the summer course with 4 people ahead of me. So therefore will be starting in the fall semester, I can't disagree that the whole situation is a little disappointing.
Well best of luck! I'm done with cnr. Waitlist or not...this is no way to conduct business. It's no wonder they were on probation. If you're gonna accept students on the basis of who pays First versus who will be a good nurse or actually be able to not only make it through the program but so pass the nlclex then I'm concerned about the products of their programs abilities. As for me they won't b seeing a dime of my money knowing full well that everything happens for a reason

I'm a current student at CNR, and think it's a great program that sets you up with multiple opportunities for success post-graduation (I've written a number of posts about my experiences at the school so far). I work at NY-Presbyterian part time, and encounter on a regular basis RNs that went to CNR who say that they felt that they were well prepared transitioning from student to practicing RN. However, the whole being accepted and now saying there aren't enough spots deal is definitely wrong and I don't know why they did that. For my class, I think they admitted way too many people because the school doesn't have a large enough classroom for ~115 people, though of course that number has gone down due to people not passing and having to repeat, people dropping courses if they aren't passing, etc, though it's still tight. I hope it all works out for all of you.
Feel free to ask me any questions.
