Hello All,
I just got accepted to The College of New Rochelle's Accelerated Nursing Progam starting in June 2015. I AM OVERJOYED, I have some things to smooth out before the start of the program (taking 2 CLEP exams) but I am so excited. I completed my first bachelors in Sept 2014 , so I am excited to get back into school. Has anyone attended the College of New Rochelle? Any tips/advice/comments? Let me know!
Congrats FranMyr! Yes, I have completed all pre-reqs so it will just be the nursing classes. My schedule is as follows:
Mon: 8am-11:15 and 12:15-3:15 (Health Assessment - theory portion)
Tues: 8am-11:30 and 12-4:00 (Foundations - theory portion)
Wed: 8:30-12:15 (Dosage Calc) and 12:45-4:30 (Health Assessment - LAB)
Thurs & Fri: 8:00am-4:00 (Foundations - LAB and clinicals)
Pretty much 8-4 Mon to Fri, factor in all the study time we have to put in outside of classes, I don't think it's possible to work during the summer session. It's definitely more doable during the fall and spring.
Yes, will be attending orientation June 9. I was told it's mandatory, and we would be receiving info on how to log in to their systems, get our syllabi's, and some pre-homework/readings to do. I will be working on the long checklist of things to do we received via e-mail until then...(first aid, cpr, health forms, physical, ppd, background check, uniforms, equipment purchase, etc....) :)
You need both this was included in the pdf:
ð Basic Life Support Card (Health Care Provider) - must be valid from June 15, 2015 - December 21, 2015
ð Basic First Aid Card - students entering the Accelerated Nursing Program must have a basic First Aid Card (American Red Cross/American Heart Association) valid through December 15, 2015.
Hi all!
I am starting the accelerated program in June also!
I will be registering tomorrow because I will be out of the country the first 2 weeks of June. Anything i learn from Colleen tomorrow, I will share with you all.
I live in Co-op City so I am freaking EXCITED that the fall/spring semesters are in my area WOOHOO!
I think an accelerated nursing group on facebook may not be a bad idea if one does not already exist.
This program is hard. I met many CNR alumni nurses at Einstein hospital last year when my mom was in the hospital for 8.5 months as well as a couple of instructors (2 of her VNS nurses) and they all said the program is no joke. I know some people are looking at the NCLEX scores, but I can forgive the drop. The nurses, and even a few students from CNR that were doing their hours there, as well as students from other programs that said they wished they chose CNR instead, impressed me enough to not even bother to apply elsewhere and I say this as a NYU alumnus .

Hello!! I'm also beginning the accelerated program june 29th. I'm suppose to go in next week to register. Is your schedule just with the nursing courses and I know that you said everyday but I just wanted to double check...You are scheduled for class Mon-Friday from 8-4:30 more or less? Just want to double check because depending on class schedule I might have to stop working.
