Hello All,
I just got accepted to The College of New Rochelle's Accelerated Nursing Progam starting in June 2015. I AM OVERJOYED, I have some things to smooth out before the start of the program (taking 2 CLEP exams) but I am so excited. I completed my first bachelors in Sept 2014 , so I am excited to get back into school. Has anyone attended the College of New Rochelle? Any tips/advice/comments? Let me know!

Hi, I'm currently a student at The College of New Rochelle, though I'm in the non-accelerated program. Feel free to ask me any questions. The program is tough, you will be studying all the time, but it's great. We have a new dean who has made a lot of changes to make the program better and increase the NCLEX pass rates (he came from Drexel University where he was associate director of the BSN program and director of MSN programs).

Congrats NuseAlly817! I was also accepted to the second degree accelerated program at CNR so we'll be in the same cohort. I just submitted my deposit 2 days ago and signed up for the BLS for Healthcare Providers class from AHA and First Aid from Red Cross.
JRJohnson, you have mentioned that you went to NCC prior to CNR through your other posts, I am just finishing up with Medical Microbiology at NCC this semester. I did all my pre-req's at NCC and have a 4.0GPA (took A&P 1-2, General Chem 1-2, Lifespan psych human development, nutrition, and medical microbiology). However, I was also taking Organic Chemistry 1 this semester before I found out I was going to attend CNR, because 2 other schools I applied to required it. Luckily, CNR only requires 4 chem credits, and I already have 8, so I withdrew from Orgo. I was struggling big time in Orgo, 1/2 the people in the class were repeats, and the first exam grade average was 55. It was my first time taking this and it was the hardest class I've ever taken. I read each chapter twice and did practice questions and got a 52 on the exam. The thought of this class still haunts me...sigh. Are any of the classes you've taken at CNR similar to Organic? If so, which ones? I would like to get a head start of learning the material before going in blind and fail out. Which was the hardest course you've taken so far? Thanks in advance!!!

@NuseAlly817 Congratulations to you !! I applied there as well still waiting on my acceptance letter . I applied in early march when did you apply to the program? Did you attend the info session ?
I applied on 3/4 and they received all my transcripts, essay, and recommendation letters by 3/8 which made my application complete for review. I got my acceptance a week or so after that.
I went to the info session and they mentioned that decisions are being made for the summer cohort these couple of weeks so you should be hearing from them soon as long as all your material was received.
Oh ok , Thank You. I applied online 3/2 but wasn't completed with transcripts till 3/16,so hopefully I'll get the letter soon . fingers cross
