The College of New Rochelle Accelerated Nursing Program 2015

Published

Hello All,

I just got accepted to The College of New Rochelle's Accelerated Nursing Progam starting in June 2015. I AM OVERJOYED, I have some things to smooth out before the start of the program (taking 2 CLEP exams) but I am so excited. I completed my first bachelors in Sept 2014 , so I am excited to get back into school. Has anyone attended the College of New Rochelle? Any tips/advice/comments? Let me know!

Good luck to you too Ranftlea!

Hey Guys I am also going to be joining you this summer. I was wondering if anyone knows anything what our schedule will look like for the summer. How many days a week we come in? Also for commuters where everyone is commuting from.

Congrats Kpass! Summer classes will start 6/29 for 6 weeks. I think classes will be Mon-Thurs 8:30am - 5:30pm, this is based off of what students in the earlier accelerated program cohorts of CNR has posted, and I believe there is a skills check on Fridays (not sure about this). I will be commuting from nassau county, LI.

Thanks for letting me know. What kind of skills check are you referring too. Dosage calculations? I am commuting from Queens. I was wondering if anyone else is commuting from the area. Maybe get a carpool going to save money on the tolls. Did you receive anything in the mail yet regarding the orientation or semester info.

@ranftlea i went online to pay and the site state that its full i'm confuse . I don't want to roll anything over to the fall semester . i dont understand why they would send me an acceptance letter when they know the program is already full . were you able to pay your deposit for accelerated?

same thing just happened to me.. I'm pretty disappointed

@nurseally817 yea crazy if you have 40 slots why send out more than 40 acceptance letters thats stupid. anyhow looking into other schools. good luck to you !!

@futurern15

I know that's like the silliest practice ever, I hope I hear from other ABSN programs, CNR is off to a terrible start.

Did you call nursing admissions to ask them about this? Or are you just moving on

I think the skills check may cover things like checking blood pressure, respiration rate, etc. Things that will be covered in health assessment lab.

Exactly I tried to pay today ! I've never heard of anything like this....like at least give people a deadline to pay by. Why accept more people than there aware available slots??!! Here I was relaxing that I got into the Accelerated BSN summer 2015 but nope..it's like you're accepted but not really??!!! Whoever pays first wins??? I'm sorry I don't have $400 just sitting around . I only got my letter 1 week ago!!! And I applied since February . Not a good look...called today maybe they'll open more seats this is absurd! Maybe it's a blessing in disguise

Hi all! I was accepted to the summer 15 ABSN program at CNR as well. I didn't bother to pay my deposit because something hasn't been sitting right with the school. But as of now I'm considering maybe beginning in the fall. Has anyone attended the information session/ open house to feel out the school? If so, any likes or dislikes? And overall do you think the school is worth it?

@relaxinanRN hey, what did they say when you called?

She said she would put me on the waitlist. But im talking to her like ??? Y am I being put on a waitlist when I was accepted ??? Idk
