And not even from the hospital from her personal home phone number.... I am so sorry to hear. Don't let it ruin your day. At the end of the day, you will not be able to get the holiday back and all the good things you could have done. Dust yourself off, forget about work and enjoy your holiday. Tomorrow is a new day and start all over.

I agree with Jessy. If this organization is this unprofessional, then they have done you a service/favor; why would you want to work for them? You can only imagine how difficult it must be to work with "professionals" who behave this way. This is not to say that this means all of their emplyees are like this, but perhaps those higher up who could make life misriable for you, had you worked for them. Keep your head held high, your dream job will come along! Thats a principle fought for and won on this very day in history, happy 4th!

i know how you feel, started vacation last weekend and on Sunday got an email stating the same thing. I was bummed for the first few days of my vacation.

Sounds as if someone has a sick view of their job. Get involved in the pleasant part of your day and let the other person enjoy their sick little game without your further participation.

Excellent advise from all. Sometimes what seems like your dream job is just not where you are meant to be...at this time. Blow off the losers and move on, have an awesome holiday!

If you are sure you will never work for this organization, I'd suggest you call their HR office tomorrow and ask for confirmation of Ms.Xs call regarding your application and I'd point out when you received the call.

It is hard to keep getting rejection emails/post cards in the mail (or phone calls!) I have never heard of someone calling you to tell you that you didn't get a job? I would also investigate this. I am trying to accept that something will work out eventually and that 'good things come to those who wait.'

I'm sorry for your disappointment, and can understand your frustration at having your day start off with bad news.

But I seriously doubt they called to tell you that you are a "loser."

While you may not have appreciated the timing of the phone call, I would at least be grateful that they got back to you with a definite response. We read post after post of candidates complaining (rightfully so) that they don't hear back following interviews and have no idea whether or not they are still being considered.

I wish you well in your job search.

I agree with Jolie regarding the "loser" comment. But I am interested to know the caller's exact words.

I know how it feels getting multiple rejection letters and emails, and a few phone calls. I also felt like a loser, due to not being qualified enough for most hospital's RN positions. Some nurse recruiters and managers were very blunt with me regarding my lack of experience and qualifications for the position I had applied for, but there was never any name calling. When I was a new grad, a nurse recruiter called to tell me I didn't qualify for any of their RN positions, but after 6 months of working as an RN, I can apply again with them. I felt like she and other hospitals were basically telling me I was worthless. I also kind of overreacted when explaining to other people the reason why I didn't get the jobs I was applying for. I'll tell them that the nurse recruiters and/or hiring managers called be worthless, a loser, and that my previous LPN experience doesn't mean jack to them. But, honestly, they didn't tell me any of those things, I just felt like they were saying that when they basically told me I didn't qualify for any of their RN positions.

I see on your profile that you have no nursing experience. There are lots of new grads that don't start out in their dream job without working somewhere else in order to get the necessary 1 year experience most RN positions are requiring.

Good luck with your job search!

That was just my pitty party for myself they did not call me a loser. Today I am over it, I mean this place is currently my place of employment and so it is VERY difficult to come to work today, but I need a paycheck and they need someone to work. It is what it is, atleast I have one interview under my belt!:D

Don't feel bad! It took me 4 months after graduating to get a position at the same place I've been employed at for 7 1/2 years! The job market for new grads is horrific in most areas. There are multiple threads regarding new grads being unable to find employment. Get a few letters of recommendations from your current manager and your co-workers. Have your resume and cover letter spruced up. There will be competition for these positions! Also apply for each and every position they have posted, even if it's not your dream job. Good luck!
