Anyone applying to Texas Women University? I recently attended an information session and spoke to Ms.Victoria the nursing coordinator for TWU. What are your stats? What advice to you give when studying for the TEAS? I know you have to apply for TWU first then get accepted. Then you apply to TWU NURSING. But I am somewhat confused on that process. I went to the apply portal and it does not give me the option to apply for FAll of 2016. I may have to wait. Any current TWU students that can give me any advice on the application process. It will be of great help. Thank you!
Hey guys! I am a student living in Florida and I'm trying to apply to TWU in the fall. Does anyone know how TWU evaluates transfer credits? Because the history classes and government classes that the TWU nursing program requires aren't prerequisites that you need to take in Florida!I was hoping that they would accept the other credits that I have taken for nursing. I'm trying to find the TWU phone number to call on NursingCAS for help but the website is down for me! Any help is appreciated!
Hey I moved from Florida too 2 years ago and had some classes from MDC request for a transcript and then get on the phone with an adviser from twu so they can evaluate the courses and tell you the ones that work for them . Good luck !!
Also, I called TWU in november and spoke with the admissions officer and she said that you could only take TEAS once, not multiple times...did that change? Cause she said that applicants were able to take the TEAS several times last year but they changed it this year so you can only take it once.
You can do it now multiple times as long as you submit the grades before deadline( it happened to me too)
Hi guys!
My name is Amanda and I'm so excited (and very nervous) to be applying to the TWU Nursing program for the Fall of 2016. I'm from Frisco, Texas, but currently go to a university out-of-state so will not be getting the TWU Bump. I think my grades are pretty decent but I know that bump saves a lot of people, so I'm pretty anxious to know if I'll get accepted or not.
Scores:
GPA: 3.97
TEAS V: 88% overall
Reading: 88%
Math: 90%
Science: 92%
English: 80%
Anyone in the same range? How do you guys feel?
Thanks for the reply! I feel a bit better now about not having any preferences.
I am concerned though about the whole Nursing CAS thing. I filled out the entire application and paid, but they have only received 1/2 of my transcripts so far. And the one they received isn't even verified yet. I'm hoping they receive the other one this week. It's been weeks since I put in the request for my college to mail it! If they don't receive/verify all transcripts by 2/1, do you know if that messes with the possibility of acceptance?
No, you are fine. An email was sent out earlier regarding this. Here it is:
It's getting closer to the deadline, so I'm getting a lot of calls about what to do if NursingCAS does not receive transcripts by the deadline. The policy under our old application system was that all materials (including transcripts) had to be received by the application deadline. I would love to be able to adhere to that policy; but, I know that new systems often dictate policy revision. Until we have been through at least one application cycle to see how things work, we will not know if and how that policy will be changed. For the February 1st deadline, we will be lenient on transcripts being received by NursingCAS by the deadline, under the following conditions:
1. The NursingCAS application was submitted and application fee paid by February 1 at 10:59 PM CST. Absolutely no applications will be accepted after this date – NursingCAS deactivates the application. TWU is unable to view applications that were in progress, but not yet submitted, at the deadline.
2. Your TEAS was taken, with scores requested be sent to TWU, by the Feb. 1 deadline. (It does not matter if you list the scores in the CAS application, as long as we have them at TWU.)
3. You properly requested your transcripts for all colleges ever attended be sent by the application deadline. Keep your receipts, confirmation emails, or other documentation that proves that you did your part. Remember that NursingCAS will only accept electronically-sent transcripts, if sent through Credentials Solutions. Otherwise, an official printed copy will need to be sent directly from the institution. I've had a few calls from students who are having problems getting printed copies. You might have to contact the college to make a printed copy request, rather than using an online transcript request system. Or, you might have to pick up the transcript yourself (but keep it sealed!) and mail the still-sealed transcript to NursingCAS.
Look for another email to come from me tomorrow. I've collected more FAQs to answer, but wanted to make sure I got this one out today.
Also, for those who might have missed my previous NursingCAS tips emails, please see the attached document. Some of the questions I'm getting were answered in previous tips emails.
Since we will be needing health insurance for the nursing program (if we get in), does any of you know if TWU offers student health insurance (for the classes you will be taking in the program)? I'm asking because the government's deadline for enrolling in any health insurance coverage ends jan. 31st.

My transcripts took about a week as well to get to the nursingCAS, and about a week to have them get verified. If you saw the email that went out a few days ago, if your nursingCAS application is paid and you have sent transcript requests to your colleges by 2/1, then you are okay. It may take as long as a few weeks to process a person't application from that point on and if something needs to be corrected in the application, maybe even longer. Anyhow, I think we will find out in mid-March if we were accepted or not.
