Texas Women University FALL 2016

Published

Anyone applying to Texas Women University? I recently attended an information session and spoke to Ms.Victoria the nursing coordinator for TWU. What are your stats? What advice to you give when studying for the TEAS? I know you have to apply for TWU first then get accepted. Then you apply to TWU NURSING. But I am somewhat confused on that process. I went to the apply portal and it does not give me the option to apply for FAll of 2016. I may have to wait. Any current TWU students that can give me any advice on the application process. It will be of great help. Thank you!

How do we know when we are accepted or not? I know we won't know for a couple more months, but my Pioneer Portal says Accepted next to Nursing 16FALL? Is that just in reference to being accepted to TWU? I never really noticed what it said before until now

Yes that just means you got into the main school. Mine says the exact same.

Anyone else's transcripts STILL not showing up on NursingCAS?! I sent mine mid-January and they still don't show as received?! I would be freaking out but I got an e mail from TWU saying not to worry as long as everything was SENT on time. Anyone else?!

I am applying to the Dallas campus. I am currently taking patho at Denton.

My stats

GPA 3.78

Teas 98.7

NO TWU BUMP

NO PREVIOUS BACHELORS

Hopefully I get in as I know TWU students have a preference.

Can someone please explain what the TWU bump is? Is it possible to get the TWU bump if you have a previous bachelor's degree? I was told that they don't do the TWU bump anymore. You just get extra points if you have taken classes at TWU-Denton or have a previous bachelor's degree.

Hey Junior...

You should have no trouble getting in. I am applying as well but for the Houston campus. I have a prior B.S. (actually also have two master degrees but I don't think it matters). My GPA is 4.0 for the pre-requisites and a 92 on the TEAS.

I am also taking Patho online from TWU. How is it going?

I'm not sure about the 'bump' but it doesn't surprise me that it is going away. I think NursingCAS is replacing a lot of admissions protocol that TWU once had in place. I think having a degree or taking classes gives you some preference, but I'm not sure how much.

I'd like to know what people mean when they say they don't have any preferences when they apply to the TWU nursing program. Preferences for what? Does that mean they do not have a bachelor's degree or have taken classes at TWU? Or does that mean where they plan to pursue their degree (Dallas versus Houston)?

What do you have your two master's degree in? I'm about to graduate with my master's degree in May! I wish I knew about taking patho online at TWU, I would of done it.

both masters are in Education.

The preferences just mean that you have either a prior bachelors degree or you have taken at least 32 hours of prerequisites at TWU. I don't know how it works now with the new system, but in prior years, applicants have said that it gives you a .4 bump in your GPA.

Hey, do you guys think we should start a facebook page?

Lexlonghorn, I don't know if anyone has replied to you. I have a hard time keeping up.

We wont find out if we are accepted into the program for a few more months. They usually start sending acceptance letters around spring break:) Just make sure to check your email daily. If anything is wrong with your application, they will notify you through there and give you a certain amount of time to correct it.

Yes - and I heard communication with applications will go through NursingCAS.

Yup:) The email said that CAS will contact us through the site and through email if something needs to be corrected and also, if TWU finds anything wrong, they will email us through the CAS system. I just check my email and CAS daily.
