Anyone applying to Texas Women University? I recently attended an information session and spoke to Ms.Victoria the nursing coordinator for TWU. What are your stats? What advice to you give when studying for the TEAS? I know you have to apply for TWU first then get accepted. Then you apply to TWU NURSING. But I am somewhat confused on that process. I went to the apply portal and it does not give me the option to apply for FAll of 2016. I may have to wait. Any current TWU students that can give me any advice on the application process. It will be of great help. Thank you!
Can I ask why?
Hey Veganbunny,
I don't know why likeababycat has issues with TWU but notice from her post history that he/she is in Houston not Dallas. I'm in TWU Dallas nursing program right now and I feel like I'm getting top notch nursing education. The faculty, the facility, and the clinical locations are amazing. I was in an ADN program (left that program 4 weeks into first semester) and see SOOO many better things here at TWU Dallas. The students are great also. I'm only 7 weeks into my first semester and can't believe how much I've learned thus far. I don't think you will regret going to TWU.
I'm not sure why this person likeababycat said that either. She left a post on page 1 stating that TWU is a clusterF.... This person was asked to clarify and did not give any more testimony to back her statement. Personally, I think he/she was "trippin" because he/she had become disenchanted due to a course or a professor this person was involved with.
Personally, I think TWU has a great nursing program and is well thought of. Their NCLEX results are always 90%+ for first time takers which is GREAT. Don't let the ill-formed opinion of one person change your thoughts about a solid nursing school like TWU.
I was a volunteer at the local hospital for three years. I helped several TWU nurses and they were (still are) great. I wouldn't have applied if I wasn't confident I'd get a great education. I actually think not only the nursing program but the university is great. I had no problem finding a job right after graduation (previous bachelor.) Go pioneers!
Hi Yall!!!!
This is my first post here! I have a question for anyone who has entered the worksheet and know how it works.
Here is my stats:
Pre- GPA: 3.714
Tea: 88.7 %
No bump or previous bachelor's degree.
I'm applied for Houston campus, and very anxious about the results. Anyone feeling the same??? or having advice for me???
Thynguyen1807,
If you go to the TWU college of nursing's website and download the GPA worksheet, enter all of your data regarding your grades and TEAS scores. After adding everything, you will see a tiny gray number at the bottom under additional notes. This indicates your score that is looked at. It is said that people with scores of 40 were accepted previous semesters.
Since you're applying to Houston and it is less competitive, I think you have a good chance of being accepted. I'm not entirely sure though since NursingCAS may have changed the parameters, but you seem well off.

Hi everyone!
So if you still have transcripts waiting to be verified and it's been past 10 days, I highly recommend emailing or calling NursingCAS and see what the holdup is. I had all but one transcript done and verified and I had them received the 1st of January. I have been wondering what the long wait was for and finally got ahold of them. Apparently, they just didn't realize that when I updated my application for a completed course, they didn't recognize it as an "Academic Update Transcript." So they just never updated my application! Completely frustrating. Had I not just gotten ahold of them, my app would have been in limbo the whole time and I probably would not be considered.
Fortunately, they fixed the mistake within the day and it is FINALLY being verified and should be complete. Ugh!
