Texas Women University FALL 2016

Published

Anyone applying to Texas Women University? I recently attended an information session and spoke to Ms.Victoria the nursing coordinator for TWU. What are your stats? What advice to you give when studying for the TEAS? I know you have to apply for TWU first then get accepted. Then you apply to TWU NURSING. But I am somewhat confused on that process. I went to the apply portal and it does not give me the option to apply for FAll of 2016. I may have to wait. Any current TWU students that can give me any advice on the application process. It will be of great help. Thank you!

Hey guys, I know this might be a crazy question...but what is the point system? I feel like this was something I should have been aware of before I even applied....ha!

We already talked about the admission points system a few pages back. Go to page 12 and start reading from there.

Please keep in mind that the point system is really NOT a cut-off. It is merely the score that the "lowest" applicant had who was allowed into the program. For example, if 140 students were allowed in, then the staff merely picks the top 140 students based on the score. The 140th applicant score is reported, but it is not a "cut-off" per say...meaning everyone with that same score got in. I'm not sure what the University uses for tie breakers, if one applicant had a higher TEAS score but the same number of points as another applicant, then that person may be the 140th person to get in. It is not a pre-established standard where the University takes all applicants who meet some minimum number of points.

I'm glad that TWU does admit based on points. I have a B.S. & have 66.67 points so if I don't get in, something is not quite right.

Good luck everyone. I still say that we will know something either the end of the week that starts on 3/7 or during the week of 3/14 (even though it is Spring Break, there should be enough clerical workers to send these out since the faculty will most likely know who got in by 3/11). I'm thinking by the week of 3/7, most applications will be done and verified so the university can begin to fill their last spots by that time. By 3/14, it sounds like all applicants will have their nursingCAS cleared by the context of the emails for TWU. I'm just speculating, but the time frame makes sense based on what I've read so far.

Also, the email above from Fall of 2015 was posted the week before Spring break, on a Tuesday...so I'm thinking that we will know around 3/11. YEAH!

Soon to be March and 2-3 weeks left. The anticipation!

Thanks for all of the helpful info guys! I can't wait to find out! Good luck to us all!

I think when we do get accepted to the Houston campus and make a facebook group for it, bearfur should be admin. haha.

Hi everyone! I found this FB post from a year ago yesterday from Texas Women's Pre-Nursing FB page.

Fall 2015 Weekend/Evening ONLY acceptance emails went out yesterday, 2/27, and hard copies of the letters will go out today, 2/28.

Accepted students have until March 13th to confirm their spot! Traditional program acceptance letters should go out in approximately one week!

I wish we would find out next week!

So I'm guessing we will found out about a week after they send out the Weekend/Evening acceptances. Let's hope that's this week (:

*stalks page* :)

This waiting is unbearable!
