Anyone applying to Texas Women University? I recently attended an information session and spoke to Ms.Victoria the nursing coordinator for TWU. What are your stats? What advice to you give when studying for the TEAS? I know you have to apply for TWU first then get accepted. Then you apply to TWU NURSING. But I am somewhat confused on that process. I went to the apply portal and it does not give me the option to apply for FAll of 2016. I may have to wait. Any current TWU students that can give me any advice on the application process. It will be of great help. Thank you!
Does anyone know if we are contacted when our application is processed or only if there is an issue?
I think only if there is an issue. I was contacted about an issue and once it was resolved, she said students will be contacted once all applications are processed. I believe she was referring to acceptance letters.
Hello all! My name is Sarah, and I also applied for Fall 2016, although I am very skeptical that I have done well enough to make it in. Here are my stats:Overall GPA: 3.65
Pre-req GPA: 3.68
TEAS V Score: 85.3%
No TWU or previous Bachelor's bump
Also, I spoke with my advisor yesterday. He is one of the ones in charge of sorting through the applications this term. He said they have about 2 weeks left for finishing processing everyone (that was an estimate). He also told me everything is taking longer because there are way more applicants. NursingCAS has really opened their application up to a lot of people all over the U.S. that maybe never would have considered TWU otherwise. He said it is not necessarily a bad thing for those of us that are closer to home because a lot of the applicants that are further away do not have the required pre-reqs done. However, it is slowing them down to have to weed through so much. I am hopeful that we will hear something by early to mid March.
Also, I have a good friend that just finished the TWU nursing program. Her acceptance came in early May. She said this was because they do it in waves. They send out offer letters to top choices first. Some may not accept, and then they do another wave to finish filling spots. So regardless, I will try not to get my hopes up or down until May. But like I said, I am not feeling too competitive compared to you awesome ladies. Hope this info helped, and good luck to all!
does anyone know how many applicants there are for Dallas? This really concerns me that they have a lot more applicants than usual because I found myself pretty borderline with the regular amount.
CommittedToNurse,
The best thing to do is email and ask. I know Houston has around 330-340 applicants this semester and that's around the normal range for Houston. Also, the cut off points for Houston is lower than Dallas. If your points are over 40 for Houston then chances are you probably will get admitted because it's competitive. I'm not sure how Dallas is going to be this semester. Also, you can try to calculate your points but if you want your true points score, I would just email and ask because when I calculated mine it was lower but when I called my points were actually higher than I thought! Some people calculate their points and it's not even correct. This person I know thought she had 53 points but really had 34 so be careful.
I can't wait until March (spring break time) that way we all can just know the truth and go from there haha

I'm applying to Dallas. I would've applied to Houston, but I'm married with a baby, so we are pretty stationary here in Dallas. í ½í¸Š
