Anyone applying to Texas Women University? I recently attended an information session and spoke to Ms.Victoria the nursing coordinator for TWU. What are your stats? What advice to you give when studying for the TEAS? I know you have to apply for TWU first then get accepted. Then you apply to TWU NURSING. But I am somewhat confused on that process. I went to the apply portal and it does not give me the option to apply for FAll of 2016. I may have to wait. Any current TWU students that can give me any advice on the application process. It will be of great help. Thank you!
Nope. I called right after I got my TEAS scores in December. It doesn't let you know if you're in for sure, but they give you an idea. My score was a 51 and last semester they accepted people with scores of 45. That's what I was told. Unless we have a whole bunch of downright geniuses this semester, it should be close to the same. lol
I spoke to a nursing advisor in Denton. I would call (940)898-2284:) If they can't give it to you, they can point you in the right direction. Just ask to see of they are able to give you your application score. I did it months ago before when they were most likely less busy. Hopefully, they aren't too busy now. Best of luck!
Hi everyone,
I emailed the Houston nursing adviser regarding the application score. Here is what she had to say:
"I would rather students not contact us to ask about their score. In order to generate the score, we need to process the application, and we are processing applications as soon as we can get to them. It's a slower process this first time around. We are not sure if the typical cut-off number will apply this time around. The Houston cut off number is usually lower than Dallas, due to the fewer TWU preference students who apply there.
If students are desperate to get that number, they can actually generate it themselves by filling out one of the Baccalaureate GPA Worksheets,†as available on our website at: Current & Prospective Students - TWU College of Nursing - Texas Woman's University
Once filled out properly, including TEAS scores, the number is generated in grey (barely readable) above the Additional Notes†box. And there is no guarantee that what a student THINKS is his/her prerequisite course is what we are going to use, so our number could differ than their number. (Some applicants who haven't been advised don't realize that we take the more recent grade of repeated courses, or that their Western Civilization class taken for their history requirement in another state won't work for US History here. Things like that.)"
I hope this helps all of you. You can get the number yourself. As aritter4 pointed out, they are pretty busy now so contacting them will only annoy them.
I filled in the excel worksheet (there are instructions that come with it as well) and found my score was a 66.7. **RELIEF**
Best of luck!

I didn't know that. It's probably too early to ask about that though, right?
