It’s probably too early to start this thread.. but is anyone planning on applying to TTU’s ABSN program for 2022?
@DCV it's definitely not as science-based as a Microbiology or pathophysiology class, but it can def get nitty gritty, particularly in pharmacology, chronic care, and acute care. Overall, you're mostly tested on more practical knowledge - clinical manifestations of a disease process rather than breaking down the neuro pathways involved in the disease; side effects and indications for specific drugs rather than how a medicine chemically works in the body; etc. I hope that's helpful!
For what it's worth, so far this semester we have gotten MUCH more direction and resources in our courses than we did in the past, so hopefully that will continue to be the case moving forward for future cohorts!

Yes, several people received notices. The deadline to accept offers is Sept 22nd. Someone said that the acceptances are coming in waves so you may hear later today or Monday. Or if you are waitlisted you may hear after Sept 22nd
@BSN2022sgs this is so exciting! I haven't heard back yet. I have a GOOD feeling I'll get in because all of my ducks are in a row (ya know what I mean ?). But we'll see. I'll comment here as soon as I hear from Texas Tech. Congratulations to those who've gotten in so far, I'm excited for you!! Crossing my fingers for the rest of us ?.
@Valgee713 I didn’t get an email on Friday. I’m trying hard to stay positive but I’m super nervous/anxious. ?
Congrats to everyone who already got in & best of luck!
@Swashington73 which cohort are you applying to? I haven't heard anything either for Austin. I'm going to be a nervous wreck this week!

@allipalmerHi Alli (and anyone else enrolled in this program), hope I'm not bothering you and you can answer whenever you have time... I was looking over the degree plan for this program and noticed there isn't any real science based classes (besides pharmacology) such as physiology or pathophysiology. There isn't much science based courses during the program is there?? It's more nursing concepts and day to day situations. Correct?
The reason I ask is because I would be overwhelmed if the exams were science based like Microbiology and pathophysiology. But it seems that isn't this. Please let me know. Thank you.
I'm also nervous about this program because I do well in classes where there is an obvious review/outline to follow for exams but you don't get that with this program. However, I might still do well if it's more concepts and common sense than scientific.
P.S. has anyone heard back at all from the program??? ? ? I want to hear baaaack.
