It’s probably too early to start this thread.. but is anyone planning on applying to TTU’s ABSN program for 2022?
@wannabnurse123 very cool! There are lots of us doing clinicals at NAMC ? yeah I would definitely wait to decide where you're doing school before deciding to go part time or PRN. We didn't actually start clinicals until March, so you could always try it out and see how it goes and then decide what you want to do!
@allipalmer, THANK. YOU. I really appreciate how thorough your answers have been. You are an absolute blessing!
@Kim valdez I don't remember specifics except that it was on Zoom with two faculty members. I'm not sure if this year is on Zoom or in person. It's not a very long time slot, so prepare answers for all your basic first-interview questions and also have a list of questions to ask them at the end because I'm sure they'll ask!
If you’re interested in this program, I BEG YOU TO look into a different program.
You WILL be kept in the dark for those 12 months. It’s so disheartening to see so many driven and intelligent classmates I had get dismissed from the program. They were fully capable of becoming nurses but unfortunately faculty just doesn’t care enough to teach their students.
Yes, nursing school is TOUGH but you should be actively lecturing students not just assigning readings and expecting them to teach themselves.
Our instructors are a DNP, 2 NP’s, and an RN. But the lack of teaching almost makes it seem like they’re just random teachers they just hired. It’s pathetic! We started off with 42 student, and now we’re 32. If the blue prints actually help, THEN HOW was 3/4 of class failing chronic care. Sadly, I think it’s less than 30 of us will be back for the fall.
Please do not waste your money on this school.
if you have any questions just go to the Spring 2021 group page on facebook. I’m 100% sure someone in the group can tell you the hell they put us through

I work in North Austin Med Center in the NICU! I was thinking of either doing part time (2 shifts a week) or just PRN (2 shifts a month) but I don’t want to decide until I know if I get in anywhere or not
