I’m not sure if it’s too early to start this thread, but anyone on here planning on applying to Texas Tech’s Second Degree program in May?

If anyone gathered any new info on possible stats for how many people get accepted to each city, please share. Thank you!
I asked about how many are accepted and they said it depends on how many site coordinators they have. They can only have 15 students per site coordinator. They said bigger sites (Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, Lubbock) will likely be 30-45 students each and the smaller ones (Odessa, Abilene, Amarillo) will be 10-20.

Haha yea, my break room had the same. I wonder if they allowed more than one applicant to choose the same time slot or if it was strictly one per available slot.

I finish mine tomorrow! One thing to keep in mind is that since Texas ended their contract with Pearson, the instructors are having to teach the skills a new way to fulfill the testing rubric for the new company. My class was the first one taught the new way. If you plan on working as a CNA, it may take a while to become officially certified because the new company has not yet approved testing centers in Texas. However, the certification requirements were waived due to COVID, so you may work as a CNA for several months without passing your skills test. If you don’t plan on working as a CNA, you’ll just need the diploma they give you at the end of class for TTUHSC!

Hi @cp103, where did you take your CNA course?

Hey! I took mine at Legacy Healthcare Careers in North Richland Hills in DFW. It was a 2 week course, half of it was online modules (every other day). My class was really small, so we had a lot of time practicing skills! Highly recommend if you’re in DFW. I drove about 45 min because it seemed to be the best in the area.

I interviewed today! I think it went well just very quick. They mentioned they had over 5,000 transcripts and the most applicants this year than ever before. I’m super nervous, good luck everyone!
