Texas Tech Accelerated 2nd Degree Program 2021
For those of you that didn’t get an email, don’t panic! This is what it says under “next steps” in the folder. “Students will receive one of the 3 outcomes below: -Blue Card for those students that are eligible; or, -Outcome/Approval Letter; or -Identogo email for students needing to submit/resubmit fingerprints” It seems that those with their Blue Cards are not supposed to get the IdentoGO email.

Yeah, in the interview waiting room they said to wait until we receive emails. It may take a while. However, we should start working on immunizations now!

Yes, the wait is a killer! At least we will find out soon. Are you applying for Dallas?

Texas Tech Accelerated 2nd Degree Program 2021
Hey! All you need is 2 forms of id (like social and driver’s license) and proof of education. You can use your college diploma or transcript:-) No immunizations or TB screen needed. All “clinical” hours are now in the simulation lab due to COVID.

Thanks for the info. I’m glad many of us were given the opportunity to interview, and I hope those that didn’t get an interview don’t get discouraged in their career path. Hopefully we have good news in a few weeks! Good luck to everyone!

Of course! I’m so ready for those admission decisions. Hoping we are all accepted! Did anyone figure out how many people were interviewed? I’m wondering if the applicant pool was significantly reduced before interviews.

Nice, I’d definitely go with them! The instructors are so nice, and it’s chill having days off for online modules. I’m also doing the phlebotomy program because it was a good deal haha. So I finish tomorrow, but I won’t be “officially” certified until state testing centers are approved. They’re in the process of that now (should be soon, Legacy is in legal steps w/ the state, about to sign contracts). Testing has actually been suspended since March, so Gov Abbott made it so you can work as a CNA for a probationary time period without taking the state test. Same w/ RNs and the NCLEX. For now, most employers just want to see a certificate that you completed the course! And that’s what TTUHSC is asking for too.

Hey! I took mine at Legacy Healthcare Careers in North Richland Hills in DFW. It was a 2 week course, half of it was online modules (every other day). My class was really small, so we had a lot of time practicing skills! Highly recommend if you’re in DFW. I drove about 45 min because it seemed to be the best in the area.

I finish mine tomorrow! One thing to keep in mind is that since Texas ended their contract with Pearson, the instructors are having to teach the skills a new way to fulfill the testing rubric for the new company. My class was the first one taught the new way. If you plan on working as a CNA, it may take a while to become officially certified because the new company has not yet approved testing centers in Texas. However, the certification requirements were waived due to COVID, so you may work as a CNA for several months without passing your skills test. If you don’t plan on working as a CNA, you’ll just need the diploma they give you at the end of class for TTUHSC!

??♀️I applied for Dallas! I’m hoping we all get accepted and get to become classmates. A FB group is a must. That’s awesome that you’re a bilingual teacher! My mom is as well, and my boyfriend is a first-year teacher. I know how crazy the virtual world is for teachers RN!
