I’m not sure if it’s too early to start this thread, but anyone on here planning on applying to Texas Tech’s Second Degree program in May?

Hi! I’m in the Austin area and plan to take the CNA course with Central Texas Nurse Network. They have rolling registration for weekday (3 weeks) and weekend (5 weeks) classes. Here’s the website if you’d like to check it out.

Oh thank you!! This is great info!!

Hey! I took mine at Legacy Healthcare Careers in North Richland Hills in DFW. It was a 2 week course, half of it was online modules (every other day). My class was really small, so we had a lot of time practicing skills! Highly recommend if you’re in DFW. I drove about 45 min because it seemed to be the best in the area.

Hey! I am gonna sign up to take it here. I was wondering if you had to do anything beforehand? Like get immunizations or a drug screen or TB screen or anything? I have a Dr appointment coming up so if I have to do anything I'd like to do it then to avoid having to go again

Hey! All you need is 2 forms of id (like social and driver’s license) and proof of education. You can use your college diploma or transcript:-) No immunizations or TB screen needed. All “clinical” hours are now in the simulation lab due to COVID.

This is where I plan on taking mine... But I'm waiting until we hear back before I go forward with doing it... I honestly don't want to waist the money doing the program and then not get in. ? They wait is killing me.

Yes, the wait is a killer! At least we will find out soon. Are you applying for Dallas?

Looks like it’s a lot of us applying for dallas. I pray that we all get accepted.

Are you guys waiting to do your fingerprints? I haven’t received my blue card yet or an email from the board of nurses

I don’t think anyone heard anything back since the interview. I think we have to wait until we hear from the school to make any move.

Yeah, in the interview waiting room they said to wait until we receive emails. It may take a while. However, we should start working on immunizations now!

Since we are just waiting now, how many people do you guys think will be accepted to your region? I am hoping 45 for Dallas.
