I'm far beyond stressed when I even start to think about nursing school. I know that Fall 2007 will accept me into their nursing program. However, it's a day course. Unfortunately the only evening class my community college offers is during the Spring. And I cant wait another year to begin nursing. But I need a schedule that can work with my job. I know there are going to be several reponses that say "it's better not to have a job while in nursing school"--- to yall, it must be nice to afford that kind of lifestyle. However, I cant. Please HELP!
I go to school in Waco at Mclennan Community College.
Does anyone know of a community college with evening and weekend classes in Texas?

Yes, down here in San Antonio...at San Antonio College, it's a ADN and offers day and evening programs.

I don't know about any relatively close to Waco, but in Houston, Houston Community College has an evening program and I *think* there is a college called College of the Mainland that has an evening/weekend program. Let me do a bit of research and see if I can find anything closer to you if relocating isn't ideal.
I know that Central Texas College in Killeen has a nursing program but I am not sure if they also offer evenings....you may check them since it's closer.

I would not have been able to go to nursing school if it wasn't for this program because I too have to work.

Im not sure how u feel about online classes but they are a real lifesaver when there are scheduling problems. You should check and see if your school offers the course online and if they dont I would be willing to bet that Virtual College of Texas offers it. Go to www.vct.org and check it out....all courses are transferrable and with so many schools participating there's a good chance that the course u need is there...good luck.

VCT is a wonderful option for taking pre-classes but I think the OP is talking about Nursing classes???? If so this is not a VCT thing. To the Op there are colleges in Texas that do offer online and/or a weekend option. Have you looked into Del Mar I hear good things about them?

I'm at Trinity Valley Community College, we are about 40 miles SE of Dallas. They offer a weekend program on odd numbered years, so the next weekend class will begin in Fall 07. I think they still attend lecture one day during the week, but the majority of work (skills lab/Clinicals) are on Saturday/Sunday.
Really... this is good information to know
