  1. How many questions did you take on NCLEX? 227 2. What study materials did you use? Did you take a test review course? Our school offered a course...not even sure which one it was 3. Did your SON offer any testing (ERI, ATI, HESI)? We had the Hesi 4. How long did you wait for results of the test, or are you still waiting? 48 hours exactly 5. What were your thoughts coming out of the test (total disbelief, certainty you had failed, confident you had passed)? 250% positive that I had failed, I felt like I didnt know anything that they asked and that I guessed on 80% of the questions. Was miserable for the next 48 hours because I KNEW I had failed!!!!! 6. Was this your first attempt at NCLEX? 1st and only because somehow I managed to PASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:monkeydance:
  2. I will graduate in 3 weeks. My advice to the thread is what I did last semester in clinicals. We had to take 4-5 pts. each day on med-surge and I would have never accomplished this without my NOTEBOOK. All of the nurses on this floor did this. I had a 1in. binder, with a divider with pockets for each pt. I put my "brains" on the very front which had times for meds/procedures for each pt., with all of their vital info. so I could see what I needed to do each hour. THen I put the clients MAR and nurses notes or any paperwork in their divider. Also, each pt. had a three-ring ziplock bag next to the divider and when I pull meds., I place all of the meds in the bag for that pt. That way when you go to give meds, you have all of the meds with you, in their own bag. THis is what I plan to do when I graduate, I hope it might help someone.
  3. Hi, I read your post about you working in Texas. Can I ask you where abouts, or how hard it is to get a job with a FCI? I graduate from an ADN program in May and I'm interested in working Corrections around the Dallas area. Any info. would be great! Thanks for your time! Heather
  4. I'm at Trinity Valley Community College, we are about 40 miles SE of Dallas. They offer a weekend program on odd numbered years, so the next weekend class will begin in Fall 07. I think they still attend lecture one day during the week, but the majority of work (skills lab/Clinicals) are on Saturday/Sunday.
  5. I am in my last year of NS. What has helped me out a great deal is 'Memory Notebook of Nursing' Volumes I and II. They are the GREATEST! The are full of pictures and mnemonics and cute ways to remember things.check them out online. I think joann zerwekh, is the writer. I highly recomend them!
  6. Has anyone taken the clep for chemistry? If so, how long did you prepare for it? And did you get the 3 or 4 hours of credit? I'm thinking about taking this exam, but I'm kind of scared of it:o . Any advice? Thanks everyone!
  7. I took the clep algebra when I was in high school a couple of years ago. I passed it with a 58; you only need a 50 (I'm just glad I passed). I studied for it by using a school algebra book and covering the basics. It was pretty hard, but I think that knowing the basics is what got me through. I would definitely recommend taking it-If you pass, you dont have to take the class!
  8. Hi everyone! In the spring I will have all of my pre-reqs. for UT Tyler's Nursing program. Could anyone give me a little information about their program.....How many days a week...what are the times, just a little info. Also, what is TVCC's ADN program like? Pass rating? Thanks everyone!
