that's when i'm taking it but at a different college. i bought the study guide book from the ati website and it's useful. i suck at math so that's what i'm really trying to concentrate on. good luck!

I've been watching this thread since I started my pre reqs and feel sooo lucky to have found it! I'm taking the TEAS next week (finally) and this particular post has calmed my nerves so much. Thanks everyone who shared so many helpful hints and hope you're doing well in your programs!

well i took the teas test for Cochran nursing school 12/12/2008 and Im still waiting to know if i have been accepted. I had 2 wait until 1/9/09 to speak to a representative and i then spoke to Ms. Vitola on the 12 yet i did not get a definite answer. I was told that I'll receive another call in two weeks to arrange an interview with their committee. This have left me a nervous wreck. The holidays were hard to enjoy because i did not know if i am accepted or not. Does anyone who have been accepted by this school have any advice to calm my nerves until i receive my results? Your word of advice will by well appreciated.

Can you use a calculator when you take this test??

no...they are assessing your ability to do math.

How accurate is the ATI online assessment to the difficulty of the TEAS test? Are the two very similar or is one harder than the other?

Took my TEAS this morning and I scored a 93.5%! I'm so excited :nuke:

Cheercml, Congratulations!

How were the science and math portions ?

Thanks! I aced the math portion. I thought it was really fair. The science was a little more difficult. The scientific reasoning was the part I had the most trouble with. Overall, I thought the test was easier than the study guides I used and I thought the study guides really helped prepare me.

Hi!

Can you tell me how the format of the test goes? Should I be expecting about 60-80 questions in each section? And how are they timed? Do they give u a set time for each subject and then close it? Or are you even 3.5 hours, they leave u alone and you work at your own pace?

Thanks!

Ok all. I don't understand what exactly this teas test is for? At our college, once you're in a starting date for nursing clinicals, you're in. I dont think it affects you in any way where I am at, but for you others, what are your colleges doing with these tests/scores? Just curious.

For the school I am applying for, I think it is just one more way for them to weed through all the applicants (approx 300 for something like 40-50 spots) without having to go through an interview process. It's a point based system and your gpa determines 60% (if I remember right) and the TEAS is 40%. Or maybe it's 70/30  :imbar
