I have one but it's on my shoulder so covered up 90 percent the time. I want more but I don't plan on getting any that wouldn't be covered up at work until I get the feel of how employers in my area are about them. It's hard because it's your body and people usually feel strongly about not only what the tattoo is but where it gets put. I wouldn't care if a nurse had one that showed.
Man if my hospital allowed it, I'd have full sleeves on both sides. I do intend to get a couple of smaller ones that can be easily hidden, and I already have some by default hidden ones. Tattoos decorate the vets and bikers I take care of every shift. I think the tides are changing on this one.

Hey there,
This topic is plain and simple. How do you guys feel about nurses with tattoos? I'm at the bottom of the totem pole when it comes to my age and what I chose as my career and all the way through school I either had to cover up or give a long explanation as to why I have it. Most of the older nurses always came at me with the same "It's not professional stuff -_-" Now that I work I don't get questioned but sometimes I feel the stare of either some of the people I'm working with or Pt's. I really love tattoos and I also really love nursing and I think that the whole super conservatives just make you feel that since you have tattoos you are not up-to-par. Thoughts anyone?
